Me and by hubby will be building a house next month. Any last minute advice? We have already asked an engineer to create the house plans and will be processing the permits once he is done. This is the very first time that we are building a house and I am scared that I might miss anything. I mean, I have gone through the plan over and over again but small details are often easy to miss. I have thought of building an island kitchen in addition to the L-shaped one. I might also include built-in cabinets but they can be costly. I have looked into adding overhead lamps at the kitchen, dining area, and living room. What else should I think about?

Is there a space for a reading room or library in your plan.Make it essential and don't neglect the habit of reading.Kids can use that room for their studies and you can be peacefully enriching your knowledge too.A computer with internet connection can also be included in the library.

Thanks! We can't afford a separate library but part of the Master's bedroom is to be the Computer/Reading room. I guess that can also be the library. After all, I also collect books. Thanks for the reminder.

Front door should face East and back door should not/never face it west.
