Should We Appeal To Alice ?

Actually I have seen that some innocent people start the Discussion on How they can earn some more through Online means . They are very much Right in their Approach . But some people just post their referral links in the discussion which makes the discussion as irrelevant and after contributing good matter into it we find that our response along-with the discussion has been deleted . The disadvantage is to the questioner and the responder but that person who was a scammer just doesn't bother. I want to appeal to Alice that a system be developed that the Response which contains the Referral Link should be deleted in Isolation rather than the whole discussion taking off the hard work of the genuine responders.

If you read the discussions by Alice she has said many times what many of us already know.
If a response is violating then ONLY the response will be deleted.
If the entire discussion is removed it is because the discussion was a violation in the first place.

Just Now I responded to a discussion in which the person has asked that can somebody help him to know some sources of online income because he has low salary . I responded with some good suggestions but one person responded with a referral ID link . After 5 minutes I saw that discussion is no more in existence ,so I felt bad for that person and also for myself.

How many times has that topic been discussed already???
It was probably removed because it was a repeated topic but definately NOT just because of one response.

I agree that it was kind of repetitive Topic but as long as there are people who are new they have quite low perception of the working of the discussions and when some members have made their responses in a way which complies with the rules of mylot , in my opinion I think that the response with spam needs to be deleted . I myself have experienced in the past that when I was a newbie I felt almost all the discussions as very novel and even talking about mylot was like an information for me. But anyhow that makes the choice of responding quite stringent for those who are familiar and can get an idea that a particular discussion is at risk.

I think that happened to me once. I was about to respond to a discussion that I'd responded to already but I was surprised to find out that it had been deleted because it seemed to be a good discussion. I wondered for a moment if there was something wrong with my first response, but then thought that I there was none at all. I always make sure that I respond to discussions carefully, so probably someone could've responded something that violated the rules.
Has this been discussed by Alice? I don't know.

Discussions are NOT removed just because one response is a violation.
The reason for the deletion is in the topic itself.
We must ALL read the Guidelines so that we understand where and wher not to respond if we do not wish to lose our posts.

Yes , I have seen discussions with around 16-17 responses getting deleted just for the spamming of one person . It makes no sense for all the people who respond carefully and turns out to be a wastage of time as well and lot of frustration.

I actually have discussed this many times and I'm trying to make sure I respond or comment on every discussion that addresses this topic.
I'll confirm again that what mysdianait said is correct.

When Alice had her "Be an admin for a day" discussions I had posted this very thing. I am hoping that it will be implemented. It is very understandable that the response with referral links or even a discussion started for the sole purpose of getting referrals be deleted but not the whole thing. I know that there is a way to do it.
Sincerely in Christ,

iamprolife2005, this has always been the way we operate. I've said it before and I'll gladly say it again: Discussions are not deleted because one person posts a spammy response or comment. It's very easy to remove the response or comment, and that's exactly what we do. If the discussion itself is deleted it's because the discussion didn't comply with our guidelines or terms of use.

If you do have concerns, that's why she's around to help. Check out her discussion history and toss in your two cents if you want to be heard. I know that I did and she is working on everything we've said. So yeah I agree you should go to her and work on that. Though, maybe that's a bug, because we as members can report indivual posts to a discussion. In which case, that commoent or respoance should be the only one effected. Unless someone's reporting the entire discussion.... I don't know but hey its only my two cents.

Read the responses and comments above (which may have been added after you posted), Kaylachan. You will see that responses and comments are very often removed. Of course, if someone reports a response or a comment, Admin will naturally look at the whole discussion. If the discussion itself doesn't meet MyLot's standards, then the discussion WILL be removed, of course; otherwise simply the offending response or comment will be deleted.

Yeah, that probably happened. Its happened to me before. Sometimes it depends how my computer's acting. I'll start to respond and when my computer finally decides to load the page I notice my comment is several comments down. Its been running slower then a snail the last few days due to high winds and being a wireless connection. I do try to read all the comments above me though. But, thanks for pointing that out.

Hi champrocker!
Would you like to guess how many one-line discussions that simply said "How do I make money online?" and nothing else I deleted in the last 24 hours?

Well Alice , it is indeed a big thing to get rid of such stuff. I was in an instantaneous gloom of getting my response vanished so I started his discussion but after such great help from mysdianait , akuseru and off course you have got the idea clearly to the best of my understanding and it will help me to be more catious while responding and also making my effort of more importance. Thanks for all the support .

I too Hope that this can go like that , the people who are responsible for the deletion of the discussion become more informed and do the needful for the mylot community.
