After one of the best operating system XP, Microsoft introduced its Window Vista. All were quite confident that it will be the best OS ever but unfortunately it was not so. However vista was very much secure operating system when compared with Window XP. But apart from the security and brilliant look window vista was unable to make any impact on the computer user. Not Microsoft after correcting the faults of Vista introduced Window7 which is far better than that of Vista. 7 has been sold many times more than Vista within a short period of time. Now I can say that Vista had a complete failure. Do you agree with my statement?

Yea I do think that Windows Vista failed. Of course my opinion isn't much to go by, but I remember the first time I tried to delete some program on a Windows Vista, it took me a while to find where to delete programs. lol. I know I am not very good at finding things but it really isn't as simple to find where to delete programs on Vista as it is on an OS like XP.

I am totally guided by my technician who is so to say at my beck and call anytime I need him. He never talk about Vista with me but changed my Windows 98 to Windows XP which I find very nice. Now I know he never recommended Vista to me. And I am glad I have total faith in my technician!

Yeah it totally did. It seemed like it was one of the worst OS releases in a long time. I don't know anyone that didn't like it. And it was a total system hog. I think Windows 7 is awesome though so they definitely realized their mistakes.

Let's not forget here people. XP SUCKED when it came out. Unstable piece of junk it was. BUT with time they worked them bugs out and viola. A beautiful operating system. What makes me laugh about Vista is. It comes out and even before they made SP1 people were whining already. People had way to high expectations of Vista from day one. Microsoft had a chance to redeem themselves with SP2. But they bombed. Now out comes Vista Lite (Windows 7). Or you could refer to it as SP2.1. Which I think Microsoft praises to much. Anyone actually ripped apart that OS yet? I crashes to. Despite what everyone brags about it being perfect. It's not! It's just a little more stable than XP was when it started. Don't get me wrong I like Windows 7. Hell I love Windows ME!! That OS was rock solid once you alter it a little. The point is Windows 7 is not as good as you think it is. It is good, just not that good, yet. Wait for SP1. Then it will take one more step towards pure awesomeness.

Yes Vista is some kind of a unlucky business because of other uncompatible devices used in Windows XP that is why some or more of all of us are not using it and don't even dare to buy it, some like me test if for my own sake but still i don't want it's beauty and advantage for some reason that my Windows Xp is still the no.1 of compatibility for my softwares. Vista is so unlucky it didn't help others for use of it. Now I am using Windows7 damn it is so cool that my friends, my girlfriends and others who see my OS like it so much... More of a compatibility but also of the short cuts of using mouse to maximize that window which you have opened and others just check it out guys... search it in your yahoo search engine or msn search engine and others for the video of the preview of that shortcuts. Then tell me it is not GOOD or BAD you tell me. By the way guys you can also try to run in Windows7 the software you're using by choosing the run program as windows95, ME, 2000, XP and also srvce pack1 or 2 or 3. GODBLESS THNKYOU

i think i'll agree on that. vista is becoming obsolete and most are changing back to windows xp. windows 7 comes with new laptops. but i don't know how compatible will it be with older ones. i've used windows when my brother-in-law bought a new sony vaio recently. yeah i found it better than vista.

Microsoft periodically get something badly wrong. Examples have been Windows 3.0 and Windows ME. Examples of 'good' versions of Windows have been Windows 3.11 and Windows 2000. Windows 95 was considerably improved upon by Windows 98 but 2000 was better than both of these (although it had a similar look to 95, it was the first public Windows version to be a true operating system and the first to use NTFS.
Windows XP was a fairly stable OS but required SP1 very soon after its introduction because of some rather serious security problems. Windows XP+SP2 was probably one of the most stable and secure OSs in a while. Vista built on the security of XP but got many things wrong and many people disliked the toy-like look of the desktop design and were exasperated by the rather inflexible security options.
Windows 7 has been vaunted by many who 'tested' the system in Beta/pre-release but has not yet been wholeheartedly been taken up commercially. I usually wait until at least the issue of SP1 before investing in a new OS.

Hi sanjeev,
You are correct as far s my experience with both XP and vista. My Desktop is still an xp but my lappie is a vista. Vista dos not suit my taste and am planing to convert into window 7. I have handled that and is more user friendly than vista.
Nice observation indeed.

Yes, vista can be considered as a false project of Microsoft that's why I got more comfortable with XP and I think its the best OS that they produce, for now I've dual operating System the Windows 7 for drive C and XP on drive D, actually these two OS serve great and users friendly too.

I agree that Vista failed completely. I work for a data entry company and we use a lot of in home contractors. Our programs will only work on Vista machines that have a 32 bit operating system and not one that has 64 bit. You never heard of a "bit" with XP. Now with the introduction of Windows 7, you cannot even get XP any longer. What guarantee is there that Windows 7 is any better since it is a cross between XP and Vista. Bring back Windows XP!

I agree with your statements. Here in the Philippines, microsoft os are widely accepted since the start of computer evolution. Being the majority os every innovations were a sure hit. From win95, win97, win98, win2000, winXP, but not winVISTA. Why? Because the computer users were at ease of the WinXP. And because it has no massive changes when it comes to security against trojan virus, spams and more

Vista did completely fail as for my experience with this OS, it may have a better look and style than the XP but the performance is drastically slow if compared to XP,as windows 7 out in the market replacing the failure OS of Vista. Vista only became popular because of the new things added to it's system and versatility. But what it is the worst OS ever made because of performance issues
