he is a dashing opener...simply a treat to watch. when he is in full flow, he is simply unstoppable. but i think he is should be a little more cautious. sehwag should follow the team's game plan during matches.

Like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendar Sehwag too is proving to be a milestone man. Sehwag is the third fastest Indian to reach to 6000 Test runs. He is behind the Master Tendulkar and the original Little Master Sunil Gavaskar. In the order to tell, Sehwag was playing his 123rd innings and reached 6000 Tests runs. Tendulkar consumed 120 innings and Gavaskar 117. Sehwag scored the most number of double centuries for India – six. With his knock of 293 against Sri Lanka, recently, Viru scored one double century more than Dravid. The two Little Masters have scored four double centuries each. In the process, Sehwag reached to his 17th century too. This 250+ score could have quite easily been converted to yet another triple century as Viru was not too far from doing so. In fact, the Nawab could have simply become the first batsman in the history of the game to score three triple centuries in the longer version of the game. Sehwag fell short of this unique record by a mere 7 runs. Before this the Australian great Don Bradman and the southpaw from the West Indies Brian Charles Lara have scored 2 triple centuries each. But what is the reason to say all this when the Sri Lankan series has been over ages ago? The reason is that this and such more performances in the past have put up Virendar Sehwag in the limelight and got himself the Padma Sri award.

Viru has had a phenomenal year last year. Ever since he made it back to the test squad against Australia he has been in phenomenal form in the test matches. I attribute that to be one of the big reason why India are on top of the test rankings. So in that sense him getting this award is no surprise. Let's just hope that he repeats his antics against South Africa when they come visiting.
Cheers!
Ram

This is a great honor for the legendary cricketer. he is among few off the personalities who increases the value of the award itself. India is proud to have such a great player in the team. I wish that he will play for India for along period and we get World cup this time after long time. All the Best.
