Many people especially in Asian countries like the Philippines do want to have fairer skin. This is the reason why whitening soaps are really very saleable. Many women want to have fairer and whiter skin. I am luckier to have a white skin for I don't use whitening soaps. There is no problem if one wish to have fairer skin.

I'm of darker skin but would never dare want to whiten it...That said, I have to admit that though I know there are many in the world who are in favour of lightening their skin tone I had NO IDEA there was actually a SOAP that did it!

Not only Filipinos who are eager to get a whiter skin, also those who are in some countries that has a not so fairer skin complexion. If we, Filipinos are looking for a way to lighten our skin, vice versa to other English countries, they are also longing to darken a bit their skin complexion like in U.K., if people wants to do something to give a bit change to their appearances to enhance more their beauty, theres nothing wrong with that.It is better to spend your money with whitening products rather than to spend to useless things.

The first time I saw that whitening soap in a supermarket I was a little shocked. My skin is really pale, so there's no way I want to look even whiter. I would end up glowing in the dark!
We always want what we don't have, isn't it?

No, i dont use a whitening cream or soap as i am also white enough that i dont need to use such creams. But i know some who use this kind of creams. But i think that is a kind of self consciousness and perplexity in the minds of those who use it.One should be strong within inside and should be happy with what colour or skin that person is gifted and should take is a positive..

The whitening soap is an aid for those who don't have whiter skin to make them look fairer. I am afraid though of the side effect of these whitening soaps.
Have a good day and thank you for responding abhii.
Happy mylotting too.

Isn't it strange dark people want to be light and light people spend hours tanning trying to be dark. Poor Mother Nature just can't seem to get it right so we will be satisfied with what we get by birth.

LOL Yeah. Poor mother nature. These humans just can't be satisfied with the good things they have. They go with the fad of the times. Shame on me, but while looking around X rated sites, I found out that Asian men look for lighter skinned Asian women. Under any circumstances, that's sad.

Honestly, I use whitening soap like Glutathione to whiten some dark-toned areas in my body. Okay, well, I wasn't blessed with uniformly fair skin. I'm not really white. I'm not also dark. But there are dark areas that I am not totally proud of.
I also use papaya soap for my face not to whiten it but to get rid of pimples. IT works on me so I maintain it. I'm just not into exfoliant creams or astringents though.

I don't use any kind of whitening products(soap, lotions.etc)
I am fair enough and i am contented with what skin i had.
I am not against those people who wants to achieve fairer skin,it's their choice.
I am only aware of what will be the side effects of those products.
Let's hope that, manufacturers were responsible enough to think about their costumers welfare and not just for the sake of money.
Have a good day always

my skin isn't white, like nicely white. but it's not dark either.. i guess i'm average. i don't specifically look for whitening products.. but if there is a choice between this and that, i'd probably take for fairer skin. i like my color, but perhaps a shade lighter wouldn't be so bad. not obsessed about, neither do i expect to get amazing results with the soap or product.
but i've knowns some girls who feel deeply depressed with their skin color and try everything to be fairer.. so i guess we are blessed to have good skins. it basically comes to you being comfortable and accepting yourself and what you have. which i think not many of us do at this era... we all want something else. taller people want to be small, small people want to put on weight, big people want to loose weight. it's good to try improve yourself but to let it become an obsession and rule your every thought is very unhealthy. life is too short for this kind of stuff.. focus on something important instead. like family, education, etc.

Wow, never heard of that...Interesting. I'm leaving mine alone-I'd worry about the consequences of whitening it.

Wow I've never heard of whitening soap either I'm African-american but I am light skinned I would never use whitening soap especially after attending a mostly african-american grade school and being called a "Golden Oreo" LOL so why in the world would I wanna go lighter if anything I wanna go darker preferably longer than the life span of a good tan ;)

I am also from Philippines and like you, I do have fair skin complexion. Many of my friends got envy because of this. But honestly, I still use whitening soap in order to maintain the beauty of my skin. I want it to be fairer and glowing. This is considered to be one of my assets so I really do take care of it.

But hey, my husband use whitening soap..he he lol
his skin is more whiter than mine..I once asked him why he need to use the whitening soap, and he said...I just want to maintain my white and smooth skin. ha ha

As of this moment, nope. I'm not using one. I have a sensitive skin so I don't usually switch soaps that easily. I get a lot of pimples if those soap reacted to my skin. I don't have anything against people using one. If they are happier using that then go for it.

In Canada some women are buying Tanning lotion so they can have brown skin in the winter when its too cold to get a suntan. Tanning salons have been banned in many cities because of cancer concerns. Everybody wants a nice tan on their skin here in Canada because it looks so much better than a pale white skin.

I do no use any whitening soap, I love my brown skin. For Asians, like Filipinos, wanting to have a fairer skin is a colonial mentality thing. Our country have been colonized by people who belong to "white" race and because of our history, we tend to connote fairer skin to be the dominant race which is a misconception. I think most people especially in temperate countries would love to have a tanned skin like ours.

hi there. yes i've used whitening soaps a couple of times now and different brands. but i already stopped using them its because i see that it causes dry skin. so if u'll use one, you have to pair it with a moisturizer.

I have a brown skin. And i love it. i don't really like to have white skin. And i am not using any whitening soap or creams or lotions that will whiten my skin. Im just happy that i have a smooth skin. But i have a scar on my knees and i cant get rid of it. thats the only problem i have. and ohhhhhh the eyebags too... i wish i can get rid of them one day.
