Hi, people ! I heard about low about the internet that's going to be accepted. The basic thing about it is that this law will let the government spy the internet users. I mean, they will know what sites we're surfing, what e-mails we're sending and receiving ... just everything. Well, if the mafia uses internet as a way of communication or something like this, the government will have the chance to catch them. Alright, I understand. But isn't it a good way to control people's life? If know what exactly the people are doing in the internet, isn't it easy to control it? What's your opinion about this law?

That law is a big NO NO for me. The people will lose their privacy. Everyone of us has and needs privacy. I mean for example the emails, the emails are just like basically mails except because they are only electronic. But the point is if you read someone's mail, you are also violating the law. Yeah I know, it really sounds ironic.

I think that in order to be able to watch the activities of an individual on the internet, there needs to be some reason that they desire to watch that individual. What I mean is that there needs to be some sort of suspicion that the person is involved in illegal activities. I personally don't mind for someone to see my surfing habits, but that's because I am an innocent person. Still, ultimately I do believe that people should have some right to privacy.

I think you will find most governments are spying already. I believe it's the saame as with cell phones, they have targeted words, and emails or conversations containing these words will raise suspicion, and they will be recorded.

Governments have better (& worst jobs too) than spying on their own people on internet. They'll have to deploy lots of resources to do that. Any violation if brought to notice is subject to scruitiny or a sample survey can be undertaken off & on. But the hackers stand different chance like the chinese ones who hacked the Pentagon, Indian PMO & Army corps, or the Indian Income tax deptt. So to deploy ethical hackers or listners for monitoring. I read somewhere that at any given time there are at least 10 million users on Internet, massive isn't it?

Hi stand87! I don't see anything wrong with this. However, they should only be allowed to spy a person in the net if they have all the reason to do so like if the person is a criminal, fraudster or terrorist. That is why I think they should get a subpoena or court order first before they can do this.

I do not agree with that. Because every person has the privacy and need freedom. If the reason is about the law and criminal.. maybe we can use other ways to overcomes this.

hi stand87 I havent heard of this here in The USA but it wouldn't bother me as they would be bored silly to spy on what I do on the net. I have nothing to hide so its not apt to worry me. I do not think its right to spy on innocent people but if they are after a criminal element then let them use whatever means are available. as for my use of the computer nothing sinister there so they would just get very tired of following me around.

Who's to say they aren't doing all this already? Haven't you watched Conspiracy Theory or heard of the Bilderberg Group? How old are you anyway? Are all college students this niave? Come on! There are many regulations about what you can and cannot do online. As there are supposed to be laws and regulation about our privacy as well!

I'm pretty sure that they already do that somehow. I mean.. they have to catch hackers and people like that somehow, right? As for controlling us.. err, no they aren't really allowed to do that. Heck, the only place that I know off where that would be possible and already is happening is China. But I doubt that the government would really care for your emails or what you do on the internet as long as it doesn't have anything to do with illegal things.

People's awareness of laws are imposed on people's thinking, and feeling as if not much ues,if you want to base themselves as rebels, then it is not just a thing.

I think it is a bad idea. This is all of our personal spaces and you do not go into others personal life and things. That is rude. I hope that law will never be passed. HOW RUDE.
