Craft Fairs

Good question - yes, actually I have. I used to design and make teddy bears and sell them at local craft fairs. The average stand fee was 60 Euros a day. It wasn't always easy to recoup expenses, but I found that the trick was to make small, easily affordable bears rather than bigger ones at higher prices which people would think twice about paying, especially in times of economic recession. You can also make larger quantities of smaller things, and the outlay isn't as big. I would definitely recommend it, because you get to chat with lots of interesting people. I have even received commissions on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately I had to give it up for time reasons, but hopefully I can start again one of these days. I must say that it was a very welcome and fun addition to my regular income.
