A hundred mylotters complaining mylot is so boring?

I just do not get this, really. I know there are good, bad, and indifferent discussions here but to complain all the time of being bored. How can you be bored when there are so many topics and discussions to choose from? Are we so sated with instant movies and tv programs and if discussions do not amuse us, or titillate us or give us instant replay we will not bother to read them?
Are we so spoiled we want show quality discussions that were made by some Hollywood genius? What is your take on this boredom thing?
I did not know we had to be genius writers to make discussions that will not bore people?

if people can't find a discussion to interest them then they should just start one themselves that they think is interesting. i personally plan to start 56 on potatoes in the next 5 minutes* because that is all i am interested in, but i am NOT going to start 28 discussions complaining about the lack of potato based discussions on mylot
*this might not be true...

hi bluebunny good thinking, show us all how to make an interesting discussion . oh potatoes could be good ones yeah dont need those complaining about lack of potato based discussions,no indeed. Someone should do something about those horrid boxed potato flakes that they make mashed potatoes out of here at Gold Crest, come on cooks, cannot you just cook a real potato and mash It?

I can start a discussion on potato fries , there is a interest named French Fries under Foods I enjoy category. I find it amusing when people find out great discussions about a simple food like french fries. I enjoyed responding to those discussions, you should try them too.

Boring? What's that?
There is always something to do here either on the discussions or on my profile or cleaning up the PMs or the friend list. I have never ever in three years had a day when I found it boring here. Friends have profiles and I rummage through them if it is slow and there is nothing appealing in the newer discussions. Then there are comments on my own dicsussions to catch up with and then there is always a friend who I can greet with a PM or...
Come off it, there's not even enough hours in the day to be able to do everything here so how could it possibly be boring?

For the past two days I can't keep up with everything again!
I wonder if those who complain have not investigated all the tabs here and maybe have their notifiers off and maybe....

hi diana thats just the way I feel too. I sometimes even look up my favorite fish to see if hes made a new discussion, and go
on to my other friends profiles too. Also there's one's discussions
to keep tabs on, and I have tried hard to be more responsive
in my comments. So I am never bored and often find myself wishing my roommate wouldn't mind if I stayed up really late. lol lol lol.
I learned the hard way not to make so many discussions I did not have time to comment on all the responses. its only fair to reply to those who were kind enough to respond to me.

Hi Hatley! There are some days it's kind of tiring here, but I just go away for a short while and come back. I think it's the discussions that are repeated so often that gets tiring (chocolate, pizza, favorite color, haha) that type of stuff. But, when I come back there are all kinds of new one's to follow up on. I wouldn't want to start a discussion on how boring it is here, that's no fun.

hi bingchen wow you keep getting better and better in your
English so being on here on Mylot is really helping you
too. Yes making one's own discussions can always add new avenues to us mylotters looking for a more interesting discussion.
Also I love the idea of learning from each other as so many
of us here in the US can be so insulated from other cultures
and its fun to share, and to learn too.

I must admit that there are some slow days. Where I could only find a few discussions worth responding to. But instead of complaining, I try to write my own discussions to make everything else interesting. The responses and views you get from your own discussions ensures that you don't get bored staying here.
I guess as in everything, myLot is the same as in life, you can just csit and omplain about how boring it is. Or, you yourself could act and make something out of it.

Whoever has made 'myLot is boring' as a discussion can surely make it interesting by starting 'interesting' discussions and posting 'interesting' answers! What I have noticed is that many interesting discussions are not attempted and if an attempt was made by those who say 'myLot is boring' could turn the tables for them.

How it was invented, why it was invented? just joking but there are so many topics, its hard to see how one can be bored all the time.

The reason they start discussions may be because they are very lazy to find some interesting discussion or lazy enough to start their own So, if they don't find anything interesting on their home page, they just shut it down or start a boring discussion about how boring mylot is LOL If this is boring then what is fun people? Mylot has a discussion for every possible thing that exists in this world. I have never found no search results whenever I have tried to find some interesting discussions!

I think if people are that bored, they dont have to be on My Lot. I always look for my friends discussions first. Naturally I cant respond to them all, and some wouldnt even be applicable to me.
If I run out of friends discussions to respond to, I go to hot topics. Failing that, I do a search for favourite topics, such as "cats".
I just dont see how people can be bored if they truly want to discuss issues with others. There must be thousands of discussions here, and hundreds of new ones every day.
I love it on My Lot. I just dont have time to rtespond to as many people as I would like.

hi jennybianca yes they can bypass us if they just cannot in all the thousands of discussions come up with one that interests
them. I always go to my friends first then work the interests above home etc for things that interest me. Cats and dogs, and people anjd family and life usually do me just fine. Specially cats and dogs as though I do not have a pet now I can relate as I
had both dogs and cats at one time myself. I would love to stay up really late like I used to when we were still in our own apartment but alas I have a roomie so I give up about ten thirty. she always says you must really love that computer and I guess in a way I do . lol lol lol.

Most people I come across who says myLot is boring are the ones who have been here for a long time. I myself have witnessed a time when discussions were really interesting. Gradually it went downhill. A lot of the "interesting" members gone inactive, and as far as my observation is concerned, the earnings have gone low too.
However, I still find interesting ones. Sometimes, it depends on my mood.
I think we shouldn't be pressured to create interesting discussions just for the sake of it. If something doesn't appeal to me, I just skip that topic. No hassle. Complaining only adds up to my stresses

hi theresaaiza yes probably they are but still some of the new
ones seem the most avid at complaining. I think if you do not think something is good here either show us how to make an interesting discussion yourself or pass on by. Also skip the
topics that do not appeal. I never complain as I do not need the stress. I am a diabetic and stress makes my blood glucose level shoot way up.

Is it really true that the discussions have deteriorated in quality? Well, that's just too bad. But if we find the discussions uninteresting, we should just start one ourselves instead of complaining. It's the only way to improve the quality of the discussions.

Hello Hatley,
Hope am not one of them but there's no way that am gonna complain mylot being boring because it never was. the only reason why sometimes i get bored is when i am so drained and mind blocked when ever am in the hype. and not to mention sleepy. remember i only get to be active during the late mornings but that's it. who ever said they are bored all the time is asking for attention, just leave them be.,

oh yeah the squeaking wheel gets the oil syndrome, yes I think'
thats whats wrong with a lot who complain loudly. they want to
grab attention and possibly get a lot of responses to their
complaining. well folks I got one hundred responses here and
none of those will pay me one cent unless I comment on them which
I am doing now. fair enought as you all did the posting and I will get paid if I will just comment back on all of these lovely
responses too. I have t ried to slow down on making discussions so I could catch up on commenting on my old discussions. So yes let them be. speaking words of wisdom, mother mary says let it be, let it be.courtesy of the Beatles lo.

Hi Hatley
I don't find Mylot boring in any way however if I stay for to long it can get to be a bit routine.
I don't stay in here for hours on end I do a few hours then I come out and I don't do it every single day as I have other online endeavors that I am earning from as well.
Also I only post a few topics a week because I know that I won't be able to respond to all of them on a timely basis which is what I try to do I don't just to start topics and not respond to them but I also do not respond to every single response to a topic that I start.
And I don't think you have to be a genius to start discussions just think about a good one something that you feel others will be interested in responding too

hi cherry41 right on we really do not need to be geniuses we just need to find that common thread that always binds us to each other when we make discussions. There are so many elements to being human, being in love, raising families that there has to 'be something that most anyone can respond to. Mylot is made in such a way that we can come and go here whenever we like, and that makes it so good.

Maybe those who thinks myLot is boring do not belong here. If they find it one, then they are free to go. As long as there are members who finds each discussion interesting, then I don't think myLot is such a boring social sites. I would prefer to be here than in any other social sites which can be full of spammers.

I agree. There are a lot of views and opinions, and you can say all you want to saying, receiving different kinds of response, good and bad. And I am with you about the movies and tv programs, stuffs like that, although I am also a movie junkie but I also have a thing about writing, I am not good though, but I appreciate different views and opinions and you're right, it does not take a genius to make a point.
But, I guess I also feel for those who got bored. First, It's because they think the money is slow here in myLOt, I also felt that before. Second, I can say that all of us already receive responses like "thank you for responding" and the like, or maybe "Yes", "No" and the like. I'm talking about the words coming out just for the sake of responding. Now, don't you think that would be boring.
But, being patient one can find himself sucked in with the posts in different views and angles. And friends that makes a lot of sense.

hi eekikit yes you bring up something that really tees me off, if I have gone to the trouble of responding and get a thank you or yes or no, I want to scream , tell me something anything that you feel about this
not just thank you, thats darned lazy. that is indeed boring, and i
never know why anyone does that.
but there are a lot of really good discussions here that beg someone to respond and you can get so involved in answering that time gets away from you and its time to eat. lol.

Hi Hatley,I don't get bored on here....then again I'm older. There are times that I hop on here and nothing seems to grab my attention or I just can't think of anything to respond. I take that as a signal that I need to do other stuff. I just don't let myself get bored. I'll go and do other things that I enjoy. I don't take it to mean that Mylot is boring. Instead I take it to mean that I need to be doing something else for a while. I won't sit here if I'm not into being here. I come back after a break and I have no problem at all finding interesting discussions and even the ones that I could not get into earlier. I sew...if I feel bored sewing then it isn't that sewing is boring. It just means that I'm not in the mood for it right now. Boredom is a signal to get up and do something else and not whine about being bored. If someone is bored then it is there own fault. I'm 53 and I have to say I've seriously never been bored for any length of time anywhere. Even in the most boring of situations like waiting for an appointment or worse someone elses appointment...I carry a good book always and a puzzle book as well.

Hey Hatley! You are so right! I don't understand why so many
mylotters make this statement! I don't ever seem to really
get bored here! If I can't find a discussion out of all the
discussions here it is very rare! There are just so many to
choose from and it is only once in awhile that I even finish
the ones that I get in my emails! And if I do get to finish
them then I go on to the "discussions that are new or hot"!
How can you not find something that interests you with all the
discussions that are here? There are so many thousands of
mylot members it is just ridiculous to make such a moronic
statement! It just means that there must be something wrong
with the person making the statement!

hi opal I think sometimes they want discussions to be sort of'juicy like one of those horror movies meant to keep you'
thrilled all the time. But shucks we are all just ordinary'
people not screen writers or famous authors, just people trying
to have some fun, enjoy mylot and even learn a few things and finally earn a little money too. It is ridiculous to make
statements like that without even trying to find something to
interest you. If nothing else like on poster wrote, then you
'make a great discussion that will interest us all.

I've never had a problem finding something interesting to respond to here. In fact, I usually spend more time than I intend to, because I keep seeing another one the I want to add my two cents to. Possibly if some one is bored with everything around them, perhaps they should look within themselves for the solution. Right?

Mylot only becomes boring when you make it boring. I agree that sometimes there are slow days yes, but mylot is far from boring. Whenever I get bored I either just start my own discussion, which I haven't done in awhile, because I never know what type of discussion to start or just look to see what discussions my friends on my friends list have started or what discussions they have responded to. But in my opinion, mylot is not boring. You have to make it interesting in your own special way

Hi Hatley. I admit i feel bored posting to discussions, even to the ones i have started as well. But that feeling has nothing to do with mylot whatsoever. It is more on what i feel at the moment. There could be a hundred interesting topics in this site but there are just times that i don't feel like posting to it or i just can't find anything good to say to contribute. When i say i'm feeling bored doesn't mean mylot is. I still consider it a great site. Cheers!

hi ybong 007 love your avatar. I think at times we bore ourselves as we just get in a rut or a mood. the other night for whatever reason I found myself really cranky and I realized I was sounding snippy in my responses. I was shocked at myself, then realized I had been on here for hours, and really it was low blood sugar. as a diabetic for years, I had forgot if you get too low you really get grouchy. grrr.So a few hard c andies and a snack and I felt human again. then the discussions looked a lot more interesting. lol

when did instantaneous and out-of-the-box discussions become boring, hatley. i presume, those who get bored are not interested in the discussions. they are more interested with the pay the site offers. that's how individual differences work. i assure you, there are more who are not bored with what they are doing at mylot.
