Yes, rumours whirl around. There are many things happening on these sites such as Face-book etc. There are photos that have been defaced and also of some people who got raped and murdered because they were stalked by irresponsible elements using information on their face-book. Do you put all your personal information especially addresses and phone numbers on the face-book? Do you believe you are attracting unnecessary attention and this can lead you in trouble?

I do not put my personal info on Facebook. However if people are determined there is many ways they can find out info.. But I do not hand it to them on a platter.. Those who are my TRUE friends know that info and know how to reach me. But there are many safety precautions that you can take with facebook you can make your profile private and then only those you allow to see it will have access. :-)

I am smart enough to know that no social networking safe including facebook. Putting personal information out there is just stupid, because you don't know who's on the other side of the computer reading and receiving it. I don't post much on social networking sites and what I do post is enough to give a general idea, such as gender, and age, but nothing that could personally idenitify me.

I do not think networking sites are any more dangerous than meeting people anywhere else. However, I do NOT put my address or phone number on there either and I am careful what I do post. If I want to meet someone in person that I have met on a site such as Facebook...I meet them first in a public place, and then only after I have spent a lot of time talking with them online. You have to watch for scammers on any site, those that will act like they care about you, but will within a quick time, ask you for money for some crisis they find themselves in. Mainly, there are a lot of great people on these sites that are real and want only to have quality friendships. I think the internet is a great tool but we do have to use common sense and exercise some caution! Have a great evening!
