Do you think it's possible the world could end in the year 2012 ??? / myLot

I have been reading a lot about Nostradamus and the Mayans belief that Dec 21, 2012 will bring with it world changing events. This may sound crazy and out of reach but, a LOT of things coincide with what has been predicted up to this point in time. Wars, weather, financial problems.... I find this kind of thing very interesting..... What are some of your opinions about the prediction of the end of the mankind ??

it happened a few times before and it will happen again , but not 2012, because i cant believe "mayans" actually followed a "rhyming" date and using the modern calender, it sounds made up .. 21.12.2012

Well, from what I've read, the Mayans were very much into astrology and that is what this "calendar" is based on...it seems to make sense... the way the planets align along with the stars and the sun....kinda deep. Thanks for the response:-)

hi dear.. as per hindu calender each earth cycle is called :"Yugas" ref: http://www.sanskrit.org/w... Yuga 1,728,000 Treta Yuga 1,296,000 Dvapara Yuga 864,000 Kali Yuga 432,000 (current stage we are in) Total 4,320,000 One yuga cycle. we r not even near to the middle of the "kali yuga" as yet .. believing or not believing is individual choice ..

Hi Tidwell! I think world can end any time. I don't get why only one date is set for this to happen. As an accident can happen any time so the end of the world can happen any time for many reasons. Hi Wismay!! I guess it's based on how the sun will align with the milky way allowing less and less sunlight threw...also the Earth's magnetic field will change. That would mean significant changes with anything that involves the use of satellites. The oceans will reacted in a negative way killing fish and other species of animals that are crucial to mankind's survival. They say the lack of food worldwide will kill millions....oh well, have a nice day :-) LOL....

Well, at the rate we are going in destroying nature, the world could end in 2012. All these disasters are happening because of our own doing. Let's just hope we can buy time by seriously thinking about changing our ways and start living green.
