For me, Anthony Hopkins is a legend. He is an epitome of a great actor. I love the guy. 
I just love his character as Hannibal. My favorite is the first sequel which is the "Silence of the Lambs". He made it so popular and his character lives forever. I find the film very entertaining, it was not the typical horror gory film. It was a classy way of interpreting a good horror film. It intrigues me from the start to the end.

actually it may fall to "suspense" or thriller category. 
I find there was a bit horror feel to it because of the film's concept but, it got some twist and turns that made it a lot more interesting.

I have only watched Silence of the Lambs (the books however, are great) I thought that Anthony Hopkins was great. I don't know that I could think of another actor that woudl do a better job at playing Hannibal. I really want to see Manhunter, which is based on the same novels as Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, etc.

Hannibal lector movies are thrilling. The character is intelligent though savage. I liked Silence of the lambs movie. I did not like the movie Hannibal.

played by oscar winning Anthony hopkins..and Brian cox in 1986

i order of timeline.. one can also see Hannibal rising first..then Red,manhunt..silence..and Haniibal
