hello, ice cream fans!
everything is quite expensive nowadays. ice cream isn't an exception. admit it that sometimes, we pay more for just a few scoops of ice cream and a good conversation with friends. but why spend more if you can pay less.
there's one shop here in my place where you can eat all the flavors you want and decorate it the way you like for only USD1.4 and absolutely no time limit. just make sure you take your jacket along after eating too many scoops specially at night.
have you ever heard of or gone to an eat-all-you-can ice cream shop?
would you be glad to be there?
please share your ice cream happiness or views on this.
i may not give you the ice cream treat that you want but it will make me smile just like when i'm eating ice cream.
cheers and thanks a lot!

Cheiyen,
We just had this last year between August and September, where it was in conjunction with the inauguration of the ION Orchard shopping mall in the famous tourist district by Swensons Ice Cream.
Swensen's called it "Eat All You Can Ice Cream and Dessert Buffet". It is a feast of endless ice-cream flavors accompanied by many cakes like oreo cheese cake, apple tart, chocolate pecan pie and many more. Something like 50 ice cream flavors, 40 toppings and an assortment of delicious pastries and cakes. There are our all time favorite waffles and different types of ice creams and toppings to match. When I was there (twice) I practically had an indulgence for the chocolate fondue with marshmallows and brownies.
But the most memorable one would have to be the Chopped Ice Cream, now I know many of us would have been familiar with Fried Ice Cream but Chopped Ice Cream is really a first for me here. There is also a special feature in this Swensen's Ice-Cream Buffet – the Chop Shop. It is where you let the restaurant know your choice of ice cream flavors and the attendant will chop and mix all your selected ice cream flavors with your favorite toppings to create your own unique ice-cream at the same time!
I think this is a rather refreshing promotion and I simply liked it. I am not sure if it will be permanent but I suppose it will stay for a while at least whilst the novelty still last.
I am not sure having visited this kind of buffet in Thailand but I must make a special mention here that I will always make a trip to the Oishi Japanese Buffet Restaurant in Bangkok (@ Discovery Centre). I simply love this restaurant's buffet till today.

hello and thanks so much, skysuccess!
i love swensen's ice cream so i hope that they will bring that buffet over to thailand soon so i can feast my heart out and scoop all i can! i won't mind stepping up the weighing scale nor checking myself in front of a mirror. i'll bring along my ice cream buddies. LOL
ice cream and waffles is like seventh heaven to me. and the chop shop? wowwwwww!!! you've indeed made drool right there. LOL
i can't wait for that. i just cant!!! LOL
oishi japanese buffet is awesome. sometimes, you pay a certain amount of money then they will teach you how to make your own sushi and you can take them home. please add up sukishi and shabushi in your list the next time you visit bangkok. they have this revolving buffet with an array of sushi and you can take your pick plus free drinks of your choice and of course, ICE CREAM!!! i'm not sure if fuji restaurant has a buffet but japanese food is very delicious there. now, i wanna have both sushi and ice cream.
enjoy your buffet meals and the rest of the week!

Cheiyen,
I am not sure if the Swensen's will promote the same buffet promotion in Thailand, but there's always a possibility. Even if they do not, you can always make a trip to Singapore and indulge.
Thank you for your suggestions and I will look them up on my next trip to Bangkok. However, I will never fail to visit my favorites - Oishi Japanese Buffet, Coca Suki and Somboon Seafood.
Also, thanks for the BR here.

Your discussion is the first I have heard of eat-all-you-can ice cream shops. I'd love to find one and become a regular at that establishment. The closest I have come is buying a pint of different flavors of ice cream and eating a scoop or two of each at one sitting. That's nowhere near the variety that I would find at an ice cream shop so I would be an ice cream delight for me to be in eat-all-you-can place.

good luck and i hope you can find an eat-all-you-can ice cream shop very soon. in bangkok, there are eat-all-you can restaurants (most of them with japanese food) and they serve eat-all-you can ice cream and many choices of drinks, too.
sometimes i go to ice cream parlors that sell by scoops and combine new flavors. i find it interesting, too.
thanks for your comment and welcome to my lot!

wow! I wanna be there! I hope we have something like this here in my country. Ice creams are like one of my cravings and if its eat-all-you-can then I think I might wanna stay in this place forever. And with the fact that you can decorate it yourself, it makes me go crazy just thinking about it. Its hot here in my place right now and reading about this discussion makes me wanna eat ice cream. I might as well get some later. weee! =)
