ok we have had real ones, now let's get creative. there are circumstances when people regularly claim to have skills and talents they don't. for example aspiring actors often add things to their cvs like 'good rider' which actually means 'had a donkey ride at the age of 7'. in cyberspace people do this too - for example i know of two people who claim to 'be able to annoy blue rabbits' which translates as 'don't annoy blue rabbits in the least no matter how hard i try'.
so what non-existent skills would you claim to have and why? in my case i think i'll say i can change into the form of any species at will. it would be wonderful to be able to do this and seeing if anyone believes me would be fun. how about you?

For me I would say mine would be that I am highly athletic and can play any sport and do it quite well. That would be my non-existent skill. I neither pocess this skill nor do I care to. I have little balance and little or no co-ordination. Yes, I am a clutz to the 9th power!!

So many responsess...and really too lazy this morning to go through them all so I apologize in advance if I'm copying someone else's paper.
I would love to be able to see into the future for a couple of reasons. The winning mega-billions lottery numbers would, of course, be first but then I'd like to be able to "play" with the future. Since everything we do, or don't do, has an impact I would like to do this...and see what would happen...and then do that...and see what would happen...and then do the other thing just because I could.

I don´t know, jb, whether my imaginary skills are imaginary or real. My mom says they are imaginary, I say they are real. Who knows the real truth? My mom says I tell imaginary tales of what happened when I was little. They say Christmas were not what I tell them they were, nor birthdays. Even the food we ate is supposed to be the product of my imagination. Yet, when there is a doubt, I am called to say the last word.
A couple of years ago, my mom went to stay with my sister for a couple of weeks. She lives 12 hours drive from my home. So I wasn´t expecting a night phone call from them unless something had happened. But they had called to ask me how was the blouse we wore the year we were put in a religius school gfor a year (I was then 8). I said while, with blue polka dots. My sister started yelling "I told you so!"to my mom. Notce that my sister is a well known scientist 60 years old and my mom is now 86.
I think that I, too, can change into anything at will. And I believe you can too, from what I have seen. Hug!
Many people think I invent things. I think I just tell them with a twist as I´m a writer..

Yes they did!It was almost 12 PM, but they know I stay late at my computer. They were playing Rummy and talking. Could I say, thinking it over about it, that I am the owner of the ultimate truth?. But that´s no skill, it sounds sinful to me even if I´m not the kind to talk about sins or being guilty.

I love family! They are adorable people that once in a while you want to kill by drowning them. But maybe a sandwich is a very serious matter. Who knows!!!

Jb, I can read your mind. If you say no you're wrong, that's what you are thinking, if you are saying wow, she's right, there you go. If you say I am not thinking any of the above, I got you again. Well...I wish I could read people's minds! I mean those that have minds worth reading....

Hello there Judith, and goood to see you this afternoon.
I am not sure if this technically qualifies as an imaginary skill or not...
I have the ability to make up large numbers of imaginary friends with very little effort. Not just one or two, but whole shopping malls full of these imaginary people...complete withy accessories.
Does that count?

Well jb when I was young I flew almost every night. I would flap my arms and fly above the heads of all those reaching up to catch me. If they got close, I would flap a bit harder and rise a bit higher - and no one ever caught me! Maybe that was a skill of youth because I haven't flown for more than 50 years.
Still, I KNOW I CAN do it, so if the need ever rises again, I CAN FLY!
Now another skill I have is the ability to convince politicians they are wrong and convince them to do the right thing - I wish!

Holly I wonder if it would work when trying to fly TO someone. The only time it ever worked for me was trying to get AWAY - and there's no one I need to get away from now, so maybe THAT imaginative ability is gone.
Didn't you know I'm a super optimist? One of these days there just MIGHT be such an animal as an honest politician - but I won't hold my breath waiting.

Hello, Judith. Well, I can refill an empty bottle of Absolut vodka with water, screw the top on it, put it in the fridge, and when I'm ready for another vodka - about 20 seconds after the last one - the water has turned into Absolut as if by magic. This of course, translates into, 'I can't do it, but I wish to God I could.'
If we pyschoburble about this, it probably means I'm fixated with vodka, and I have a morbid fear of running out. All of which is true, so perhaps there's something in this waffle after all - or possibly not.

I can play piano, actually, I did play when I was, let me see, 5 or 6. So many years not touching it at all, I can barely play a very simple one. But sometimes, I tell people that it is my hobby.....why? maybe i just wish that i had never stopped playing.

no, that surely is time-demanding, and I prefer to watch thos TV series hours and hours....those ideas that i can play a good song in public will just be an impluse. what a pity!
