I always tag my own discussions and I tag those of everyone else too. I even tag those which have no tags at all but I don't always respond on them.
I often use the same tags too. Then I add a comment to one of my own discussions so that it has some recent activity and then it will show up in the column on the right 'similar discussions'
That's what tags are for too

'MyLot' which is the tag I add to all my discussions in this interest.
You will see at least one of mine on the right

I thought the tagging helped the discussion with being able to find it, I don't think its meant to be taking the discussion but is helping out.

It is fairly often for other people to tag a discussion that they are taking part in. The reason for this is that we always have the option to tag a discussion when we have made a comment on it. For me, I will typically tag the discussions that I have started but I don't tend to tag the discussions to which I am simply responding. I think that this is because I don't really feel like I hit on a key word when I am just responding.

I always add a tag every time I comment someone, so yes it is quite frequently that I am tagged myself. Everyone tags sometimes, I probably do it most than others, because I hate to skip things. It is just the way I am.

well to be honest i dont like tagging.whats the point in tagging one when you have such a big and prominent discuusion name..thats what i prefer and i usually skip the tagged lines but somebody else do tag it for me..thank to them and i hope they will continue doing that

Occasionaly someone will tag my discussion with a term which I hadn't thought of using. It doesn't bother me because tagging discussions is important to the success of myLot. It helps people discover discussions when searching for them and so when you don't tag a discussion you really aren't doing yourself any favours because it makes it harder to find.

I always tag but I don't look at it as tagging the discussion, more tagging my response to the discussion. I've noticed that once I tag my response, if part of my tag is, I guess, relevant to the discussion, the system adds the tag to the discussion. Do you know what I'm trying to say? lol. It's automatic. I think tagging is important for many reasons, mainly to get more people involved in the discussion. As other people have said, it increases the visibility of the discussion or topic not only on MyLot but possibly on the web in general.

Yes, I find that people do add tags to my discussions when they respond to them. I really do appreciate it as it helps others who might be interested find my conversation. I try and add as many as I can think of, but there are some obvious ones that I skip. The same is true for the contrary as well, sometimes I think of something that can be used.

Yes I have found that when I have tagged less then some one else tags then it gets added there.I usually prefer to tag the discussions as it makes easier for others to track my discussions and the posts are made in my discussions. That is how I work out in my discussion.
