I just read a very interesting article on prostate cancer. It seems that scientists from Britain have found that gene tests could help doctors decide on the best treatment for prostate cancer patients. They said that there are 3 different genetic abnormalities that exist that determine how long a prostate cancer patient is likely to live and this could help doctors know how aggressively to treat the prostate cancer. Detecting these 3 genetic abnormalities let's the doctor know that the prostate cancer is life threatening instead of slow-growing. Thus, they can better proceed with aggressive treatment and help in eradicating the cancer or prolonging the patients life. I think this is wonderful news for prostate cancer patients. I am glad to see that there is some positive discoveries that are helping us human beings win the war on cancer.
