What do you like to have on your sandwich?

Hey, mates, which ingredients do you add to your sandwich? Do you prefer to use bread or white bread as a base? Perhaps you can share a recipe of your favorite sandwich? I like sandwiches. I usually eat some of them in the morning and some after school, to fill myself up a little bit. I usually make two types of sandwiches: 1) Sandwich with white bread, cheese and tomato. 2) Sandwich with bread ham/sausage, cucumber and/or cheese. Cheese is actually my favorite ingredient to be used in sandwich. I know that some people make some very complicated sandwiches, with loads of different ingredients, but I usually don't have time to construct such monsters (although I agree, they taste soooo GOOOD!).

I am not good at cooking, so that would be kind of "mission-impossible-sandwich" for me, lol Anyway, these components sound great, perhaps I'll get to try that one someday! Thanks for responding!:)

I like Turkey on Wheat Bread with mayo, lettuce, cheese, tomato, jalapeno, cheese, and mustard too! If you don't have a lot of time maybe you could try 2 flour tortillas warm both sides on a comel and put cheese inside and if you like ham put some ham too and jalapenos than put the tortillas together and you have a ham and cheese and jalapeno quesadilla sandwich!

Wow, that's a nice idea to stuff tortillas with cheese and ham! I love ham and I also forgot to mention before that I like jalapeno too. Anyway, that name of the sandwich makes my mouth water, I should really go and try to prepare something like that, I am feeling hungry already. Thanks for sharing!:)

I like to make sandwiches myself, because there aren't any sold in our local shop. I saw some of these on sale in various gas stations, but they cost so much, that I could make like 10 of these for that price at home. Thanks for answering!;)

I am not particular with the bread but more particular with what is inside. I make sure there is cheese in every sandwich. I can go for salami or bacon with vegetables as well. Also it can be with tomatoes and japanese mayonnaise. I am drooling as I type here because I love sandwiches that are simple but very tasteful.

It actually depends on my mood. Sometimes, I like it simple. Sometimes, I like my sandwiches loaded up with lots of fillings. Most of the time, it's simple like a cheese spread or peanut butter. One of my favorites, though, is nutella. My goodness, I could just die whenever I eat that thing. Maybe place some bananas in the middle and it's heaven. Yum! One of my favorite combinations is also butter and strawberry jam. I also sometimes pair the jam with cheese. Kind of weird but tastes really good. Okay, I think I better stop and go raid the fridge now! Haha!

Same thing with me. Sometimes I feel like preparing something more complicated, so I could enjoy it in peace. Other time again I'm in rush and don't have much time to prepare big sandwiches, so I just make some simple ones, that can be made fast and eaten fast too. I also like Nutella, but haven't tried it in combination with bananas, but I am sure it tastes extremely good. I also haven't tried that cheese and jam stuff, it is a kind of weird combination for me, but it may be good too! Thanks for answering!:)

You've named some really tasty ingredients! Bread is very spread in our country and we eat with almost every salty dish. White bread is usually being eaten with both salty and sweet covering. Thanks for sharing your preferences once again!:)

Have more interesting bread (I LOVE sour French, myself). Use pesto or hummus instead of mayo. If you like hot or strong flavors, experiement with mustards. Put interesting and stronger-tasting lettuce. Add tomato, onion, pickles, peppers, chopped olives. Have turkey or another meat. Put basil or other fresh herbs in it. If you're trying to recover from anorexia, why limit yourself to such a tiny number of calories? Myself, I don't like tuna, but if you do, there's all sorts of stuff you can mix with the tuna -- chopped celery, olives, pickle, onion, spices. Then there's cheeses. There are a bazillion cheeses, from really mild to really pungent. Edit for afterthought: Try rye bread, which has much more flavor than white. I don't care for whole grain breads, but you might like them, and they have a LOT of good stuff in them (lots of fiber, protein, and other stuff).

Well, I must admit there is a bunch of new ideas for me! Luckily I don't recover from anorexia, so calories are not a problem, it means that I can try these recipes without fearing anything. Thanks for so many new tips, I'll try these out! :)

Lately I've really been into bagel sandwiches. I'll take two spiced turkey slices, cucumbers, cheese, tomatoes, green pepper, and lettuce, with a little bit of mayo and a dab of Zesty Italian salad dressing, and put it on a toasted bagel. It's incredible! The best part is that I got the bagels at the store for really cheap. Now that's a good sandwich!
