when it comes to crafts, are you a jack of all trades? as for me, i like to bead and make jewellry, crochet, am learning to knit, i make all my own cards and gift tags but probably dont do anything perfectly, i just like a lot of variety when it comes to crafting. how about you? do you stick to one craft (like scrapbooking) and master it and then move on? or do you not move on at all? or are you like me who has their finger in a number of different crafts?

I am like you. I love art and everyday I have new ideas to try. I don't have much time, so I do a little once every two weeks. I can start many projects at the same time. I am thinking now about huge print of my photography. I am addicted to DIY of everything possible...

Do you watch HGTV or the DIY channel a lot? I don't get the DIY channel, but I like HGTV. They cover such a wide array of crafts, designing, and decorating activities.

I don't watch TV. DIY is a new trend in almost everything...DIY health care, DIY home decoration and much more. Hand made stuff are hot now so I use term DIY for many things. It happen to be the same name for TV channel. I watched few episodes years ago. You can watch it probably on Internet.

I'm something all right, but it isn't a jack of all trades. It's more like a Jill of I hope I have some talent. I would love to learn how to knit. It's a lost art in my opinion. My Nana knows how to knit, but my mom does not. Nana can't teach me anyway with how her life is right now. And I'm not certain getting Knitting for Dummies will help me. And yes, they really do make the book Knitting for Dummies.

I start knitting when I was 6 years old. It is very easy. With recent yarn prices, it is very expensive hobby...

I get really bored with one craft after a while so I have several different ones...I cross stitch, do plastic canvas, crochet and several other little things. I do one until I get bored and then switch to another. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I'm not a craft person at all. I like it when my kids do something crafty but its never been my thing. Kudos to those who have the patience.

This is really weird that I stumbled on this discussion, because I said the EXACT same thing as a response to a topic just before this. Anyway, that phrase describes me well. I feel as though I can do a variety of things and can figure out how to do them to a passable degree very quickly, but to actually become a master of them takes me a VERY long time, to the point where I usually just give up all hope and continue to be a "jack".

I do lots of different crafts too. I like to bead and make little pendants, do paper crafts, knit, and crochet. I will also try random crafts that I find online if I have the stuff. Lately, I've been doing a lot of knitting. I just got sort of stuck on making hats.

New crafts I would try, and if I find it is not for me I move on. I make bead jewelry, crochet currently. I have done macrame, straw baskets, greeting cards, embroidery, sew and I dabbled with polymer clay. A co-worker makes candles and soaps, and I am thinking about giving it a try.

I have my finger in lots of crafting "pots" but there are some I feel I have mastered - at least to my satisfaction. I needlepoint, and can do those other stitches, but don't much care for them. I cross stitch and I'm pretty good at it, yeah, I have made more than a few mistakes, but I have also successfully done some with no mistakes (did have to pull out a few.) I bead and while I don't think I know all the methods, I think I'm pretty good at it - haven't mastered that one tho. I've done some scrapbooking/card making, some crocheting and I know I've just dabbled in them. Still, while I'd like to do more with them, I just haven't had the time.

I like a variety of crafts, but I'm not really good at any one. Circle knitting, scrap cloth winding rugs, making pillows, making rice things to heat in microwaves for people with arthritis, yo-yo circle cloth-that's sewing, recycled crafts-whatever comes up and peaks my fancy. Like at about.com. Neat stuff.

Can I choose to be the jack of none? Jack of some trades would do. Jack seems to masculine for my gender. Perhaps, jane. Jane of some trades.

I'm a person that knows something maybe about anything But I've mastered myself in computer and cellphone repairs... hmmmm. I never expected to master those since I don't have formal education about the job. I only acquire it through self study and actual observations. Aside from those I also have some knowledge in carpentry using power tools. I actually made the tables that were using here in my net cafe. I'm also a bit inclined in designing like business cards and tarpaulins. I also experienced working in a vessel like bedbunks, kitchens, wallings and ceilings. I love to do costings on raw materials of a certain project. I can make plans on a building using autocad. I also know a bit about computer networking. And I'm an woman.

cher....this is far tooo funny! This is one question I was hoping no-one would ask and I would have to answer honestly! Yup..."I'm the jackess"! Of course, my favourite is; pergamano (proper spelling)but I also have a plethora of supplies for knitting, woodburning, watercolours, plastic jewellery, furniture restoration, woodworking, tufa-potting....and of course, gardening of all forms! I do NOT lose enthusiasm for one thing, if I have many different on the go! Cheers!
