i don't have a twitter account. after having a poser/hacker on facebook, i stopped signing up for other or more social networking sites.
twitter is sooo in right now and everybody seems to be on it. so, what am i really missing? some people seem to monetize using the site, but i'm again afraid of being hacked and/or having poser. is it secure enought? if you have an account there, what's your favorite part of being part of that site? and if not, why aren't you signing up yet?

I do have a twitter and I've had one for a while now. I first got one because it looked interesting and I wanted to try it. At first I wasn't really using it at all but after a few days I was addicted to it and was using all the time.
I like using twitter because I like to know what my favorite celebritites are doing and some of them say the funniest things, which puts a smile on my face. I also like to follow my friends, who are also as funny or funnier. I think that would be my favorite part of being part of that site, I get to smile when someone says something funny and that just makes my day a whole lot better.

I am very sorry to hear about the bad experience you had on Twitter.
I know someone who had the same experience that you had. After this person had her Twitter account hacked into, I changed my password 2 times on Twitter.
I enjoy twitter. It gives me the opportunity to further explore my interests. I am a visual artist and I enjoy following museums, art galleries and people who know a lot about art. I also follow other artists. I follow CNN and other news organizations, too.
I joined Twitter, thinking I would market my artwork there. But, I rarely market my artwork there.
The fact is that most people do not like being "marketed" to.
Another reason I enjoy Twitter is that I have become acquainted with many interesting people.
It is a site that can consume too much time, though. ;)
Perhaps it is important to change our passwords often or, to have very secure passwords, when we log into websites that require passwords.
Have a good week!

hi fineartist! it's not actually on twitter but on a different social network site. i was thinking of using twitter to monetize, buti guess, most people would not like that. thanks for your response!
