Oh, poor CoCo.

Did anyone else watch the last episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien? I'm sure this topic has been hashed a great deal. I was so glad that the last episode included his normal humor, along with his heartfelt encouragement to never be cynical about anything. He left with positive words about his network even though they put him through a mess with his contract. I mean, the guy was on the verge of tears. He is really someone I've come to respect. Is anyone else going to miss CoCo until he comes back in the fall?

I feel sorry for him. He uprooted his family from New York to go to LA for The Tonight Show. He did get a nice payout for himself, AND his staff. I was really glad to see he negotiated so much for his staff. And I also feel sorry for Jay Leno a bit. He is seen as the villain. But he didn't quit The Tonight Show. It wasn't like he changed his mind. NBC told him he had to quit The Tonight Show, then they came back and said well, we want you to do a show that isn't The Tonight Show. What is that about? NBC fired him when The Tonight Show was number one in the late night ratings. And Conan O'Brien was number one in his timeslot. However, NBC was afraid of losing Conan, so they made that promise several years ago to make him the main guy. Conan O'Brien is going to come through this smelling like roses. He has the whole country on his side. According to his deal with NBC, he can't appear on TV for seven months, but after that, I bet FOX will try to get him for their network. And I'll defnitely tune in when he gets a new show.
