What is it about men and toilet seats?!?

My boyfriend does not seem to understand the disgusting aerosol effect created by the flushing of the toilet when you leave the seat up. It drives me absolutely batty! I tried positioning his towel on the rack directly opposite the toilet to remind him to close the lid but even that isn't working. UGH - what's the deal? Ladies, any training tips?
