i was 17 years old when i found out i was pregnant. 6 months before i found out i was pregnant i went to see my gyn. and she told me that i had a uterous abnormality that would not allow me to ever have children... i have two uterous and 2 cervix's they alone are not large enough to support a child for 9 months.. so i found out i was pregnant with my daughter and i was scared out of my mind. at first the drs. told me that there was no way that i caould carry the baby past 4 months. then i did. then they told me that because my uterus was too small that the baby would be very small, highly under developed in her brain and her growth or that she would be severly disfigured or mentally retarded. i am proud to say that i carried to 38 weeks, my daughter weighed 6lbs and 15ozs and was 19 3/4 inches long, she had all her fingers and toes. the drs ran every test possible and nothing was wrong with my daughter physically or mentally. and now almost 5 years later i have the smartest 5 year odl that i have ever come across and she is completly healthy.

I was 19 when I got pregnant with my first child. Me being young I thought everything would be perfect and a piece of cake. At 4 months pregnant I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and had to go to an endocrinologist twice a week. At 5 months they found that my blood pressure was high so at this point, I was in college and had to quit going to school just to manage my doctors appointments. I could not get my blood sugar levels under control with diet alone so then I had to get a glucose meter and the finger pinch that test your blood before and after every meal and give myself insulin shots. Due to my blood pressure I was hospitalized three times but was never induced because it was way too early. On routine appointment my blood pressure sky rocketed to 200 over 124 and was rushed to the hospital they were able to get the pressure down with Magnesium and induced my later. My daughter was so small that she came right with 2 pushes and less than 45 minutes of labor. She was 4 pounds even. Thankfully even though she was almost 2 months early, she was very healthy and was able to go home when I left the hospital. The doctors think that since I had the gestational diabetes which sometimes makes babies larger, that was in her favor. With so many things that can happen during birth and pregnancy I am so grateful that things worked out for the best.

hi! well, here is my story. I was due end of March but since March 2 of last year, I had been experiencing strong contractions already, which continued for one week. On Tuesday, March 10, we went to the mall for an early afternoon walk and to speed things up. We planned to watch a movie in order to relax. But as it turned out, I suspected that my bag of water was already leaking when I went to the restroom. So instead of the movie date, we passed by the hospital for a professional assessment of my condition. It was recommended by my OB-gyne that I should be admitted to the hospital that night. I wasn't allowed to go out of the hospital anymore, which I think as a hindsight, was a wise decision. The next day, my labor was induced because of my already leaking bag of water. But since the contractions were so intense that I passed out every 2 minutes, I was given epidural anesthesia. My bag of water completely broke around 10 am. I really didn’t know much about what went on, except the excruciating pain because the baby really wanted to come out the natural way. But when evening came, around 9pm, an irregularity in the baby’s heartbeat was already detected. Immediately, I was rushed to the operating room for an emergency C-Section procedure. But it didn't stop here. My baby was already way down the birth canal that it took quite some time before they took her out. And since I was only given epidural anesthetics, I could feel everything. Oh well, but all is worth it. I have a lovely baby girl and I would go through the same if needed. But if I could, I would have preferred a much easier delivery. :D I still thank and praise God for a beautiful baby girl. :D
