Any good suggestion?

I'm working in trade company, there is a customer who is the friend of my boss, we produce goods to him for selling for nearly 50 days, while he always don't arrange the payment to us.
I'm charge for the payment, we have many workers who need their salary, so i called him asked for the payment, he always refuse my call, delay to arrange.
I'm very annoyed with him , but he is our customer and also my boss' friend, sigh.
Do you ever met this problems and how will you solve this? Looking forward to your good suggestions! tks!

Hi acer5540, in situations like this, we really can't do anything much except to keep pressing the customer for payment. But, there is one thing which you mentioned that could probably save the day. Since you said that the customer is a friend of your boss, is your boss aware of this situation? If not, then it's best to let him know. You can choose to write an email to the customer and put your boss in the loop. Most often than not, if the customer still insists on not paying, your boss will most probably take over this matter himself.

Why not take up some of your workers and go to his house, and explain things to him in a soft manner. If he doesnt realise the situation, you can use the same workers for a different cause.
Never give up your business strategy for friendship, because apart from you, it is going to affect your workers job, who is more important than friends.
