What are the pros and cons of having a credit card?

I want to know your opinion guys. I am planning to avail a credit card next month but I am not quite sure if I should. Should I avail a credit card? What are the pros and cons of having one?

its quite simple really..
credit cards are great coz you won't have to carry too much money when you go around.
the only problem kicks in when you start to get late with payments. interest rates is one thing, the annoying agent that will bug you to clear your card is another.
