Telenovela Genre

There are some major genres in movies. Such as music, some people really love a kind of movie that romantic, or maybe action, even thrilling and horror has its own favorites. But how about telenovela? Do you have kind of telenovela in your place? Or what do you call a series you watch in a TV?

i dont really like telenovela , sersiouly ! i think is really unreal , the stories are the same so i dont waste my time watchin telenovelas .
Series are great , specially comedia series , like The big bang theory , friends , etc.
Sopranos is really good , well it was ....
