I am sure that all of you have in your house a piggy bank; may be your children have one.
How much money do you have there now, and why you like to save money there?Want for rainy days or just like to have money for a travel or to buy something for your lover.
There you like to save pennies from shopping?
You ever need money, and borrowed from your children, from theirs piggy bank?
Are ashamed to go to buy something with money in the piggy bank because are just pennies there?

All members in my family have piggy banks. My husband and I have an older popcorn tin that we use for our piggy bank and then my daughter has a pig for her piggy bank and my son has a football for a piggy bank. My kids are weird though and their money seems to eat a hole through their banks because they never leave their monies in there they always want to spend the money. My husband and I like to save our change all year for when we have our town summer festival because it allows the kids to play many games and purchase a few souvenirs.

No No...they have not borrowed with interest yet although they are still young but that may be something here in a few years that they start asking for. LOL There is only three piggy banks in my house though...my husband and I share one and then my son has one and my daughter has one.

Yes I do icesmile
Whenever I have any loose change, or find any pennies on the floor, I throw them in the piggy bank and save them up so I can put it towards something I really want.
I have an electronic money box, which automatically adds to the amount inside depending on what coins I put in it. It's genius

You know, I like having a piggy at home because nowadays it seems impossible to save some big amount in the bank. That was when I thought of having a piggy bank. Everyday I deposited money in there, sometimes big, sometimes just cents and I was so happy when I held it up one day that it had become really heavy. I swear it was already almost full. I was about to deposit it to the bank when lo and behold, it became very light. I shook it and held it for a long, long time and was sure that some money had been lost, but how? I asked my sister about it and she said she'd been using the money for fare. WTF! That did it. I wasted no time, opened the piggy bank and placed everything in my purse. Can't take any more chances, and now, I no longer believe in piggy banks.

I used to collect my pennies and other coins in a piggy bank, but now that I have fallen on hard times I just lay the few meager coins that I have on the table and I find that I use them whenever I go to the shops to find something to eat. Every day when I can go out I take these coins with me and use them. Some days I have more coins, some days less coins. But I am thankful for what I have.

My husband and I have a little penny bank that is shaped like a small Canadian mailbox, sitting on our counter, where we put all of our pennies. Then when the bank is full, we roll the pennies in cardboard tubes, and take them to the bank, where we put them into our savings accounts.

Hey icesmile! I still do have a real "piggy bank"! And I just
love it! It is a ceramic piggy bank with lots of different colors
on it that I bought in a dollar store a few years ago! And I do
put mostly pennies in it! I do sometimes put nickles and dimes
in it too if I have too much change to put in my wallet and don't
know what else to do with it! It is pretty small, but it still
will take a long time until it will fill up enough for me to
take the pennies and wrap them to take them to the bank! But,
someday when I have enough I will! Until then I will still keep
putting any loose change I have into it!

hello icesmile :) yes, we do have a piggy bank. I teach my son how to save money. Everyday from school, he puts his loose change in his piggy bank. I also put coins in it. We usually open it up at the end of the year :)

When ever I have small change left over I always throw it into a big glass bottle I have by my desk. Part of the reason why is I hate faffing about trying to get the right change when at a shop and it often frustrates me when someone in a queue ahead of me is thumbling through all their small change and taking so long to do it. But I also do it so that a couple of times a year I count it all up, get it changed into high denominotion notes and treat myself with it, so it becomes bonus money for me.

I used to be able to save up money here and there, but it is much harder now, as the cost of living has changed as things cost a lot more than they used ot. I do try to save up, but I end up using it to pay a bill that I need money for, or I need it for something else. I am hoping that things will change one of these days, where I can save up like I used to. I hate the fact that things cost so much more than they did, but there is nothing any of us can do about it. We all just have to hope for the best. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I have a piggy bank too or in reality, it's a bunny bank ^^.
There are only cents into it, when i have cents in my purse, i always put them on my bunny bank and all coins like 1€/2€, i keep them on me.
I don't have many cents in my piggy bank because i don't receive munch cents xD.

Actually I collect all my change. When I have enough, I bring it to the bank. I'd like to think it's for my vacation fund, but often times, I use it when I run out of money and need to pay some unexpected bill. I've gotten in the habit of saving change now, so I just do it as a matter of course. Not sure if this is really working as a way of saving money per se, but it always seems to come in handy when I least expect it.

It was fun to read what everyone's bank looks like. Mine is a tin bank in the shape of the White House, which I got when I lived in Washington, DC, years ago.

Yeah I do have a jar full of coins, not pennies though, dimes and nickels. I have no idea how much money it totals now, but it'll never be full, because frome time to time whenever I need coins I take some from there. And whenever I get small coins as change when making purchases, the change goes straight to the jar. Nah, it's not something that I'm ashamed of.

I made a resolution to try to save money and I am hoping to keep it. I am trying to save at least a 100.00 so I can open a savings account. I was hoping to open a savings account with a smaller amount and so far I have had no success in finding one. I would love to be able to save up again. I had saved money once before for my wedding and for the down payment for the house. Now I would just love to save money so my husband and I can repair our back deck. I would also love to save for Christmas this year because last year I was so unprepared.
