I am sure that other dog owners have the same problem as I am having but I guess it is not a problem but my dog has now figured out about what time the mail man is coming and he sits on the couch waiting for the mail truck to park down the street and as soon as he sees it he starts to bark and he seems to follow it from house to house until he looses site of him but he sits in the direction he is going to come and as soon as he gets to our house he goes ballistic. Barking as loud as he can and going back and forth on the couch. He then jumps down off the couch to run into the other room but gets so nervous he actually turns around and jumps back on the couch. He finally calms down when he sees the mailman leave.

Hmm... Wonder what this is all about. Does he scare himself from the barking or what? Or finally realizes that there is no way he can get to the mailman from inside the house. Luckily we have a Dog here in our house, from the person renting a room downstairs, but he is a Quiet dog even though he is bigger. But we do have a neighbors dog down the street that is known to get out and bark at everybody.

Yes, even same is the case with my dog. His name is Tuffy, a sweet little pom. He hates my milkman and to the extremity, he hates my newspaperman. He hates my newspaperman more because he bangs the newspaper on my door and gets very furious after seeing him. I think he will bite him if he gets a chance. This is an usual dogs behavior which we pet lovers have to get used to it.

My dog pretty much does the same thing. We have rural delivery out in the country, and I swear that dog either knows what time to expect the truck to pull up, or maybe she hears the motor down the road. Around the same time each day she parks herself in front of the glass door that faces the mailbox and waits. As soon as he stops she just starts barking like crazy lol. It's been 8+ years she's done this lol. What I do now is go over and pet her and say thank you for letting me know the mail's here, and she usually will stop once I do that. Hm, never thought about it before, but maybe she's just trying to let me know 'mail's here.' She doesn't bark angrilly or get agitated, just barking to let me know I guess.
