Do you like to get the same thing everytime you go to a restaurant?

I am always so torn when I go out to eat as to whether to get what I know that I love there, or to try something new. I don't want to miss out on what I know I enjoy for a possible meal that I do not enjoy as much, but how do you know that it will not be better than the usual? Its such a hard call that I struggle with everytime I walk into a restaurant. How about you, do you get the same thing everytime or do you like to try new things?

I often face this same struggle as well. I want to try something new, but at the same time I want to eat something that I already know that I will enjoy. Sometimes I will alternate every other time I go out to a favorite restaurant and one time I will get one item that I know I like, and the next time I will get another item that I know I like.
It is good when a friend is with me and eats something different and lets me have a taste so that I will know to have it (or not) next time!!

So many good ideas for solving my problem. I think the alternating idea, that might work out just perfectly. I am pretty persuasive, I think I am going to have to convince someone else to get what I want to try and take a bite, or two. Now that is pure genius.

I am glad that you like some of my ideas, and I hope that you are able to get a friend to share a few bites of their dish. Good luck!

In some restaurants for instanse fastfood restaurants I tend to order the same dishes again and again, because I have found some dishes that I like, and I prefer to eat them instead of experimenting. When I eat at an international retaurant I am completely different, and in those cases I prefer to try as many different dishes as possible. Even when I have found a dish that I really like I am still curious, and I prefer to try a new dish each time.

Dh and I are both such creatures of habit. We always order the same things in our favorite restaurants. I guess that once I find something that I like, I'm afraid to try something new. The only time I consider ordering something that I haven't had before is when I try a new restaurant. We went to Macaroni Grill a couple of months ago and the waiter talked me into ordering a new lamb dish instead of my typical seafood pasta. I'm not even a huge lamb fan but the dish was fabulous. You would think that I learned from that experience but no the next time that we went to the same restaurant, I was back to my seafood pasta!

My husband would always smile and order for me before i can even open my mouth to order when the waiter comes. Yes, i like to have the same thing/food from the same restaurant. When i am hungry, i do not like to try a new menu thinking i may not like it and i would be left hungry going home or has to wait longer for a 2nd order. To place safe, i always order the same food as before. :-)
