Are we really as smart or as stupid as we think?

Often times many people feel they either fall into certain categories depending on the subject. Some people feel they are smart at math, but suck at english and vice versa, but maybe it's not that you are naturally talented at one or the other or that even there's a such thing as talent, more so inherent passions that we have for particular subjects. Meaning if you like something, you'll naturally do it more without noticing the effort, and if you hate something, you'll naturally do it less and any time you do it, you have to put forth so much effort to do it at all. What does everyone think? Does anyone feel there are naturally talented people are naturally passionate people? I for one have started to pick up on subtle things that "smart people" do, from books like Talent Code and Outliers and am starting to realize that it's not only that "smart people" do whatever they are smart as more, but with more motivation to learn and put forth that much more effort in anyone else. They just don't put in more time, but put in more quality time.

Some people underestimate just how smart they really are. You can't expect to know every little thing in the world. Some think that your stupid if you don't know some insignificant tidbit of popular culture. What's obvious to me isn't necessarily obvious to those who haven't got an ouch of experience in the subject.

You know most of the time we don't even bother to notice that in the first place because we just do what we think is right for us and we don't care if that particular decision can affect us in a positive or a negative way. For sure there are times that we are smart at some point but there are also instances wherein we are so stupid maybe because we are unaware of it. But whether we are smart or stupid at times we just keep on doing what we believing for and let's just learn our lesson if ever we committed something stupid.
