Of course. I only reply after I'm sure I understand the meaning they want to express. It's impolite to reply without serious reading and thought.

Yes, Ofcourse! how should I answer certain topic if I don't read it first.I don't think so it will take you a whole day to read a certain topic or discussion. Sometimes your response might have been given by someone. You're just repeating same post.

Read those interested comment and response to it 2 or 3 paragraphs. I measure that if you can do it in 6 hours probably you got 30 post/comment or more in one day. That's will be enough for a day. Happy Mylotting!!

I'm one of those people who, when I'm at a party, will hover politely on the edge of other people's discussions - including friends I know - and try not to be noticed until I feel I've heard enough to give a valid contribution. This goes back to my student days, when I tail-marked a conversation trailing the keywords "films" and "Target", gave my contribution about the size of John Travolta's backside, and got a rather bemused, "Yes, but what we were ACTUALLY discussing was B-lymphocytes, and the effect on plasma proteins of inhibiting hypoxia-induced autophagy due to exposure to nuclear fusion" type answer. In other words yes, I ALWAYS read other people's comments before giving my own. What's more, my contribution is usually a comment on some-one else's post, rather than a direct reply to the discussion. Except today, when I came straight here.

It depends on the discussion. If its to a spsiffic topic or a question requiring an exact answer. I read to make sure someone else has answered. If the author of the discussion appears to be confused, I'll still reply. However if the person is clear then I don't. If a person asks an opinion about something then I post.

How do you make sure that someone else has answered? Did you read all? What happen if the previous response before you is so much, did you read it all just to make it sure?

Hmmm.. so what you are doing is just reading the title of the discusion? After you posted, you never come back again and look over if you already got a reply back?

hai friends, frankly speaking, there will be no time to read all the posts as we are busy with our schedule. but the people making the comments might think that all their matter is read by the discussion creater.
• Indonesia
3 Feb 10
Yaa, the discussion creater like me , will read it all, but i don't read other's discussion response when i reply, that will cost me plenty of time

Personally for me sometimes reading another discussion and responding back to it will stir up a discussion I want to start as well. But no, a lot of times I do not go and read all of the discussions or responses back to a discussion before responding back or starting a New discussion as I do not have the time. Lately due to everything going on in my life, time is so limited, but I still do what I can and hope for the best as well.

Hi KrauseHome! Hmm .. reading other's to get inspired ... yaa you are right, ooo that's the reason i didn't see you around lately well at least you still read's mine, and i hope you can manage your time as well Have a nice day KrauseHome!

I tend to read most of the responses on the first page of a discussion and then quick scan through the rest stopping on those which seem to add something different to what has gone before. Sometimes the responses can be better than the actual discussion and quite often I will respond to an interesting response before I make my own response to the main discussion. Whilst I feel like I should read all the responses to a discussion before responding, sometimes the thought of 5 or even more pages of responses to read is off putting, especially if I already have my response formulated in my mind.

If i'm the one who starting a discussion, i'll try to response all of the reply, so everyone will feel better, as their comments on my discussion being appriciated but there's short comments that might not helping, or didn't necessary to reply, so i skip it

I just read only to those discussion that I have commented, my friend. But with whole discussion I didn't... There are many interesting thing here, mylot but we need more time to comment because we need to kill time here. If we don't do that we can't get any... Have a nice day!!!

I mean to kill time is to spend it. So, that we can make good earnings. If you spend around 2 to 3 hour a day that is good enough if you concentrate on what you will do...

I do sometimes, but the majority of the time I don't. The times that I do read the entire discussion before I post are those times that the discussion at hand is something that is extremely interesting to me. The times that I don't read the entire discussion is when the discussion that we are referring to is something that I read the opening of the discussion and there is immediately something in which I wish to contribute to the discussion.
• Indonesia

Immediately contribute to the discussion? i like it, it shows that you are enthusiastic person i think contributing is much more valuable than reading too much post, isn't it?

you're absolutely correct, maxilimian. time, oftentimes, prevent us from reading posts, much as we want to do that. but interest drives us to comment on other people's posts. and once you get the bug, it's difficult to stop.
• Indonesia

bug? what bug? what makes you interest the most that can't make you stop?

Yes I do but there I times I just scan on it if the topic seems familiar already. There are even titles that shows already the content thats why I dont read it anymore. But somehow reading helps in understanding better in every discussion. You give better feedbacks as well.
• Indonesia
1 Apr 10
You mean the title which represents the content? yaa sometimes it's true, even i do it sometimes, but if it need important reply, i usually read it to give a best response to the starter
• Indonesia
1 Feb 10
No I didn't. I just read the title. Like yours, I just read the "Did you read before post?" section. I don't like waste my time to read. Hehehehe. I just want to make it fast. I don't have much time do to this. I must take care for my family you know
• Indonesia
11 Feb 10
Well i guess you should give a different time between mylotting and taking care of family if just reading the title you will be "un-connected" like this you should read that what i means is do you read other post to a discussion, not "do you read the title" only haha

It is of course always not possible for me, instead I use to read the words as the typing takes place. Since english is not my mother tongue too, I don't bother about the spelling mistakes - honestly. But if the meaning of sentence is not clear and not structured by grammar, I should worry about the presentation of my discussion topic or the acceptance of comment from other side. Plz take care!

I try to read before I post, especially if the person is asking for some kind of advice. But if it's my opnion, then reading other's posts is not going to change my opnion. Sometimes I don't have the time either. But when I do, I try to read other's posts and check their box also. There was one time I checked someone's box because I thought they had a good argument, although I still disagreed with them. So I like reading other's posts, when I have time.

That's what the topic starter looking for, even we have similar idea or answer, we still could reply it in a good way and in different words, which the starter may understand it differently

Yes I read post. I am still reading post and trying to response in some discussion. And it is impossible to response without reading the post. It is time consuming. With reading other opinion I can't express my opinion. I think reading is must for me before posting.
• Indonesia
11 Feb 10
Reading the topic is a must i think, while reading other response is not a must, we can't understand what the topic starter asking in a discussion if we didn't read their discussion well i'm guessing there's a lot of people who didn't read the topic main discussion
