Squash Advice

I am attempting to purchase and cook meals according to season. This has resulted in selecting some foods that I am not familiar with. Aside from the occasional summer squash I have no Squash experience. I tried acorn a couple weeks ago, using a classic baked recipe, and I liked it, so I decided to try Butternut Squash, but I don't really know how to prepare it. I was hoping that people could share their favorite butternut squash recipes with me, that way I can get some ideas as to how to prepare this rather large veggie I picked up at the market.

If it is the yellow squash what I do is rinse it then cut in in round slices and boil it in water until it gets soft and add lots of butter and salt and pepper to it. Yummy I wish I had some. Is it yellow squash?

Its actually a kind of creamy tan color. I have had the squash you are talking about, and I agree it is great cooked using come butter, or in my case olive oil, a bit of salt, and pepper. I also throw garlic in with mine.

Thanks for the b.r. Hope you enjoyed your squash. Sorry I have not been here on my lot too much because I started a new job Monday and have been in training all week and I have been having to study for the job as well.
