How long is your laptop battery stands?

Juszie, Batteries standby and elapsed time will reduce with time and also affected by how you use your laptop. You may always buy a new one to replace the current one, keep it plugged on the mains or get a new laptop if you are highly mobile where you compute a lot on the move. Mine can last 3 hours in the most energy saving setting. Since the batteries are Ion batteries you mustn't fully use them and then recharge, that's actually bad for them, or so I heard.

You did pretty good getting 2 years out of your battery. A new one will last 3 to 3.5 hours per charge and slowly lose charge time over the course of use. There are only a certain number of charge/discharge cycles in any battery. My last one only lasted a little over a year. One good way to extend your battery life is to remove it whenever you can run on the power cable. If you are in a place where you can plug in, take the battery out or insert the used up one just to give you a few minutes to shut down if you have an unexpected power outage. This will keep your good battery from going through needless discharge and charge cycles. Only use this battery when you need it or are somewhere without power. Also, if you're not going to use the battery for a while, it's best to remove it when it has about a 40% charge and not charged all the way up. It's a little easier on the battery and will help to extend it's life. If you're down to 5 minutes though, it's time for a new one!
