Java getting overshadowed by other programming languages

Do you think that java is getting overshadowed by other new languages. I mean are newer languages a threat to java's existence. Have you ever had the feeling that you had better learned another language and that java was a mistake?

No, java is not a mistake. As for me, I understood the concept of OOP using java because java provides strong application of OOP! Aside from that, java makes your program very organized. Java is also a good stepping stone to study other programming languages, as on my opinion. It is because I am a Java programmer and being one, I can easily learn C++ and C#. There are also a lot of tutorials in these language for Java programmers.
