I was thinking this morning as i got my stepdaughter ready for school and we were bonding a bit, about all my childhood memories. Sitting on my grandpa's lap in his truck with him letting me "drive", just simple stuff like playing with dirt in the back yard, I realized how many special moments I have had and am very grateful. What's your fondest childhood memory?

Hi there lilyrayne! good thing your discussion reminded me of my fondest childhood memories, the reason why my most favorite day of the week is sunday. during sundays we used to go to some of the most frequented parks we have in manila. we would bring food, drinks and what-have-you until it was about 4 or 5 in the afternoon and it was time to go home. nothing spectacular, but those memories somehow brings back the child in everyone of us and refreshes our inner being. http://www.mylot.com/?ref=bananarepublica

I guess most of my best childhood memories do coincide with my maternal grandparents. My Papaw is now in a nursing home, which we hope is temporary, and it is so hard to think about how he was back when I was a child, and how he is now. But he was an excellent grandfather. He listed to me more than even my grandmother. He was so fun, and so kind and understanding. I remember him taking my sister and me to Bell's Amusement Park. They had this huge, wide, and tall slide, and kids would climb the stairs with a burlap sack. Then we would sit on the sack and go down the slide as fast as it took us. He was always there, waiting for us at the bottom.
