Even though alot of people may feel like the only type of work is going to a building from nine to five everyday not realizing that sahm and sahd have much work to do as well. I know that even though I may not be bringing home the bacon persay I am contributing to helping my family. If you are a sahm or sahd what do you do during the day? What are your duties? Do you run off of a schedule? Let me know. I think that it's interesting to hear what other sahm and sahd do during the day that keeps them busy even though they are not working. As for me I usually wake up around 8am and my children are all younger so they usually sleep until around 9:30am. My stepdaughter gets up fifteen minutes after I do to get ready for school she is ten. While sending her off to school I usually cook breakfast which consist of Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Grits, and one of the following: Biscuits, Waffles, Pancakes, or Toast w/ Jelly. After breakfast and cleaning up the kitchen the children usually take their wash-ups and get dressed for the day. Then we have our learning session where we do little preschool work that motivates them and teaches them things that they need to know to be prepared for kindergarten. Following the learning session I allow them to watch television (nickjr. or noggin) usually about 2 shows and then it's lunch time. For today they had Sandwiches, Applesauce, Green Beans, and Milk. After lunch it's time to read a story and off to LaLa Land they go. During that down time they have I usually end up cleaning the kitchen from lunch, catching up on laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, or some type of cleaning task. The rest is pretty much the same way. After the children wake up from their naps I usually give them a snack and if the weather permits, they may have outside play for a maximum of two hours. While they are playing I help their sister with her homework and cook dinner. Today the menu consist of Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, and Biscuits. After Dinner I clean up the kitchen again and then we read a book together. After their second story time of the day I allow them to watch television again which usually consists of about two shows or so and then it's baths and bed. That's pretty much how our days go outside of the occassional doctor apptmnts, shopping trips to the market, etc.
