Hi,
The annual Oscar awards is soon coming up. But before the show will air the nominations will be announced. I belive that Avatar will be one of the nominee, even though i did'nt like the movie and i think it's a bit over rated. But one of my favorits this year is Ingloriousbastards, and i think Brad Pitt should be nominated. Movie loving friends out there. What are your opinion?

I believe that Avatar is over-rated, but I kind of like the movie and would be waiting to read the news of how many Oscars it has won. On the other hand, I think you are right, I agree with you that Brad Pitt should be nominated. His performance was awesome and it's high time he gets an Oscar or two.

So I take it you are on about in particular Best Picture Oscar rather in general. Avatar is a shoe in for a nomination and so is Inglorious B. But I think this year may see "The Hurt Locker" taking it along with several other awards along with a Best Director Oscar for Kathryn Bigelow as Hollywood finally acknowledges women and their contribution to movie making rather than just as an actress.
I honestly can't see Pitt winning an Oscar or even get a nomination for Inglorious because there is so much competition in that specific category.

Well i think Oscar nominees is the topic, so what ever suits that topic :) I don't think he will be nominated for that role. But i think he would deserve one. The Hurt Locker you say, it's a war movie right? I will give it a shot some time soon.

I havent seen this movie, but I would like to. It sounds like it would be something quite interesting. I might try to watch it sometime this weekend. It sounds like a good movie.

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the Oscars. Every now and then something really awesome wins, like when Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova won for Best Original Song for Falling Slowly from Once and beat out a Disney song! Indie kids of the world stood a little taller that day hehe
But sometimes they really upset me, like last year, Dev Patel got like a dozen other best actor (or best supporting actor, which seemed a little odd to me) nominations for Slumdog Millionaire but got completely ignored by the Academy.
Plus, I haven't seen anything last year that I would expect to be nominated. I saw a lot of mindless crap, Harry Potter, Coraline (which really should get a nom for animated feature)... Watchmen I think deserves a nomination for cinematography, because, while the movie itself was iffy at best, the visual experience was pretty awesome.
I could go through and analyze the chances of every movie I watched but I think I'll stop here. LOL

I agree with you on teh Once song. They got a realy amazing soundtrack for the movie. But think Disney deserve a bit more credits than the Oscar academy is giving them. I still dont know why Johny Depp did'ng get any Oscar for one of the Pirates movies. I can't say that i have been following the Oscars for meny years. But the last years i have tried to keep an eye on it so i know what movies to watch. The frost nixon movie last year was amazing and i cried when Frank Langella did'nt win for best actor.
