Aside from JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series, I've also enjoyed Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, JK Rowling's Harry Potter, Orson Scott Card's Alvin Maker series and lots of others.
Right now I'm reading Swan's song. What's in your best ever reading list?

CS Lewis' Narnia comes to mind, or Loyd Alexander's Prydain series, both great reads.

The best one i've read in ages is Merlin's Kin by Everett Coles I bought it from Amazon after reading Molly Martin's review and was pleased I did. It's all about 5 teens who answer a cry for help and find themselves in a world where the only humans are descendants of the Knights of the Round Table. Filled with surprizes it captured my attention. Great read.

Also Philip Pullman's Dark materials. If I had I child I definitely would encourage him to read this. Or maybe this would be a part of our bedtime stories ritual.

Well for me the best fantasy book I've read so far was a series of short fantasy stories by Neil Gaiman =) He is my favorite author and I also his book Stardust =) Gaiman's compilation of the fantasy stories was written by famous writers in fantasy and was edited by Neil Gaiman. The title of the book was "The Sandman Book of Dreams" it's very beautiful. I recommend reading that book =)

Since I'm not really that of a bookworm, I would say, Harry Potter is the best fantasy book I've ever read. It is full of adventure and controversies. It's pretty unique since it deals with magic and stuffs like that. I really enjoyed reading them.

I read all of it. I honestly think it's really entertaining even for adults. If I were thirteen I would definitely be hooked. A good read if your encouraging a child's imaginative and creative pursuits.
