For joomla, its easier if you install joomla first in your webhost then the content, rather than upload it from localhost.
First, you need to know your mysql database name and username in localhost and webhost, since webhost sometimes have their own rules.
Second, backup your database in localhost.
Third, in cpanel, create new database same with your database in localhost. And I mean identical, database name, username, password.
Fourth, connect user to database
Fifth, Copy your joomla to webhost www.
Done.
PM me if you need further assistance :)

You will need to use FTP - File transfer protocol
download an ftp client like fliezilla, enter your sites details and upload to the public-html folder and you're done!

I have never worked with Joomla but I am guessing that if you created your website on a localhost, you will need to ftp your files onto your server. On your cpanel, there might be an option to upload files, look for that. Otherwise you might want to use an FTP program like FileZilla. You would need to know your host settings/address though. Best thing to do would be to contact support for your webhost because they will have a more concrete answer for you. Goodluck!
