What do you think is the central theme of scripture

In his new movie, Denzel Washington plays a man charged by a mysterious voice to carry a book across post apocalyptic America to a place unknown for the purpose of spreading the information the book contains. The book, we quickly find out is a Bible. When asked what the book means to him he replies, "Do for others more than you do for yourself." Which seems a fairly good assessment of many of the themes of the teachings of Jesus. To you, what is the central theme of scripture? Or what theme speaks more to you in your personal life than any other?
