It is troublesome to format the computer and then install the software. So if it is not necessary, I won't do so. At first, I will see whether I can use the backup operating system when it still works fine. If not, then I will try to kill the computer virus. If the problems are still available, then I have to format my computer and reinstall everything again.

Previously, I always use system restore to curb this problem. But recently I realised that system restore cannot be completed most of the time. So I used the other method. It's to create an administrator account in your computer. Then put all your personal files to C:drive. Then use the new account and delete the old admin account. It solves most of different kinds of software problems as well besides virus.

on my part, i did learn how to manually remove malwares (malicious wares)from my PC..i had a good antivirus (ESET NOD32). to prevent such intrusions first you should browse the wed safely (safe surf)- avoid p-orn and attacking sites. second check you flash drives regularly especially when you used them on other PC's.third install a reliable antivirus you deemed helpful and will meet your needs.lastly, do not download or install programs you are not sure of..

If the case is I still can use my PC, then I'll search how to manually remove the virus, but some case that you can't even bring the system to desktop. That's the time that I will reformat my PC.
I have a partition drive though, so I don't hesitate to format my system if needed ^_^
It's better to keep your important files on external hard drive or in partition ^_^

a few months ago my computer was attacked by virus. i wasnt able to logon to windows. i have removed the hard drive to be transfered to the new computer my dad bought so that now the new computer has two hard drives. im relieved when i saw my files intact although i installed vista. this method let me recover my files because i never had to reinstall windows. but if my dad never bought the computer it would be impossible for me to access my files. i also deupgraded and moved to xp from vista since my computer always restart and do not enter the desktop. in order to not repeat the inconvenience i disabled automatic updates. so now my windows xp is running faster than the previous vista. i have also downloaded registry booster from uniblue and there were license keys that can be found in the internet for free.
