Does your company or school offer a big dinner for you on some special occasion?

It is January 30th today, the last day of our school work. Tomorrow we will start to have our winter vacation for almost a month long.
After the last school meeting by the school leaders, we were invited to have a big dinner by our boss. All the teachers with their families were invited for the dinner in the school canteen. This dinner was called Lunar New Year Dinner. We have had this kind of big dinner for a few years.
So I am wondering whether your company or school offers such a similar big dinner when you start to have your grand traditional festival or holiday at the year end.
Or do you love to have a big dinner party?

Hello WJS....Yes I too love to attend dinners and get togethers and we often arrange to have get togethers of family of friends when ever we can...No we dont have any get togethers before our annual holidays but we often take up some special occasion like ,birthdays or anniversaries to have a jolly evening. It is the time that we tend to meet our long lost family or friends and also to enquire about the wellbeing of all persons...

Hello Rose. To have a get-together is a wonderful time for friends and family members to be together. We will soon have our Spring Festival. To be exact, it is one weeks' time. It is exciting, but busy a time though. Enjoy yourself, friend.

Hello Rose. Our traditional new year's eve falls on February 13th, which is the lunar month of December 30th. And the first day of the new year will be February 14th, which is the lunar month of January 1st. Back home for the winter vacation, I spend much less time here at myLot, but stay more with my family. I am happy, very happy for the holiday. I wish you all the best, dear Rose.

Hi William! It's been a long time again.^^
Is Lunar New Year Dinner a traditional Chinese celebration? Because Chinese celebrate their New Year during February right?
Anyway, here in our office the regular special occasion we celebrate is Christmas. We usually hold a Christmas Party before the Christmas vacation. A program will be held, always preceded by a mass, and afterwards, games and gift giving will be done. Employees are free to bring their family, but not everyone in their family because the office budget is limited. Last year only two children were allowed to be brought per employee. After the mass, snacks were provided and then lunch, and then there were special numbers, games, gift giving and then snacks again. The office also provides employees with Christmas give-aways. Last last year, it was fruits. Last year it was ham.^^
We also celebrate our big boss's birthday every year. Each sub-office will bring their food contribution so aside from the food provided by the main office, there will be lots of other food for the employees to enjoy. ^^

Hello secretbear. You are right that we Chinese celebrate our new year by lunar new year, a traditional of ours. By the way, I love to see the picture of yours. It looks very beautiful with the two house-like boats on the ocean. Thanks for sharing. I love it. Take care.

Hello my friend williamjisir Ji,
Well, during our school days, as I canrecollect correctly, there used to be Fare-well Parties to final year students by immediate next batch, where as a students, we used to invite all our teachers only. I am just talking about 1953-54 and before that. During our service career, there have been nuerous occasions, when we had many such gatherings.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Yes but not in a way that you could bring the members
of the family. Only for all employees and it is free.
This is the things we do every Education week. All
educators are in the hotel for meetings and dinners
and lots of prizes. Many intermissions and show each
schools and we are enjoyed much of it. Taking pictures
and laughing all those prsentations that makes us
smile. Serious also to matters to be given importance.
I wish it could also happen in our school soon.
But I guess it is far for its a global crisis in all
places in the world.

Hello geniustiger. I am so happy to read your responses to find that we are in the same line of business, engaged in teaching, which is considered to be the most glorious job in the sun. I am wondering what subject you teach in the school. I had English as my major at college. And ever since my graduation from college, I have been teaching English and I love my job a lot.
I wish your school would do the same to those teachers' immediate family members if they happen to work and live on campus. Good night, friend.

I am glad to see your new discussion. That's a great news that you will have such a long vacation:) I envy you so much:) Here it is the same. Our company will offer a nice lunch before the Chinese New Year and when we are back to work after the Chinese New Year. Usually it will be lunch because it won't bother our personal life. As we like to spend more time with our families. If it will be a dinner, then usually we will go home late.
I love China

Hello youless. I am glad to say that I am now having my winter vacation at home. I feel so happy to be back home for the long vacation. It is good that we teachers can have a good rest at home after a long school term, which makes us feel relaxed for a better job in the next school term. But back home, I don't have much time for surfing on the Internet as I prefer to spend more time with my family. Have a good time, youless. May I wish you in advance Happy Spring Festival.

We usually have the Breakfast with Santa in December. It's at my daughter's school. Other than that my husband has a party or dinner through his office, usually it is the same time of year.

Our company (my boss and all the colleagues) just had a vocation in an wonderful island----Hainan. This trip is for the annual celemony for our company. Our boss spent lots of money for this trip. We went there by plane, and stayed in a very good five star hotel. Each night we had dinner with our boss in different restaurants.
For the traditional spring festival, I surpposed our company will have a celebration before the CNY holiday. But I don't know when and how.
Personally, it's a good way for the boss to keep close with his employees and strenghten the team spirit of the whole company to have such kind of events.

Hi dear friend william, oh that's great a big dinner with the teachers and their families. Nice to hear a Lunar New Year Dinner. With the real estate company I'd been we always have big dinner parties during It's anniversary, the president's birthday, Christmas, New Year and Valentine's Day but with the staff, the officers and the salesforce. We bring our families during outings like swimming or during sportsfest. There are schools I know who give dinner like yours but just to staff and faculty great and nice if including their families. Happy to see you friend, take care...
