Who would be the perfect actress to play Julie Andrews role in "sound of music"

I am sure you all know the all time classical movie " Sound of music ". And very least people who don't appreciate Julie Andrews role as Maria in it. I would like to know how you would speculate and predict the perfect actress to play her role if there's ever a remake of this great movie. Somehow I just think Anne Heathaway ?

If they ever did take the foolish decision to remake it, and I hope that day never comes as it is one of those untouchable movies, then Amy Adams would be my choice for the lead role.

Yes, it's not fair to compete with the older version that's considered to be the original one. No matter how good the remake movie's actors and screen shot would be, people tend to get the first good impression on the original one. Besides, we always recall wonderful old days that will never be imitated with recent day stuffs.

Yes, you are right :)) let's wish not ever the one like that. By the way, the other difficult thing would be choosing the songs for it, just imitate the old songs or creating new ones, that wouldn't be easy to maintain. May be one or two hip hop :)

Pretty brilliant thought :) Yes, Amy Adams has got Julie's cheerful and the most important " sincerity " that would be a precious one in this world. Although her face contour is nothing close to Julie, but " the girl next door who's ready to explore the world " look would be a great choice.
