Does your cat play with your hair?

I have long hair and ever since he was a kitten Pumpkin will lie on my neck at night and "knead" my hair with his paws. Before he was declawed I would get up in the morning with one side of my hair knotted up because he had been "teasing" it all night. Now that he is an adult he doesn't stay there all night but he will still do it for awhile.

Aw...that's so sweet!! My youngest cat Delilah, loves to nuzzle my hair tho she doesn't knead it for which I am most grateful! She also will hide her face in my hair when she's sleeping next to me which is adorable. She's not declawed so always super gentle as is her nature! Be Well!!

That's adorable! Pumpkin is not gentle but he does have his nice moments--mostly while I'm asleep I think!

I'd be in big trouble if she wasn't so very gentle. She seems to still have her kitten claws as they are razor sharp and she's gotten me a few times by accident when I have picked her up. Her nickname, or one she also answers to is plumpy since she's abit round..kinda like a pumpkin now that I think about it! She's black and orange swirled together so kinda a Halloween colored kitty! Hopefully Pumpkin will learn to be more gentle. Evidently, your hair is just too tempting or she's a wanna be hairdressor kitty with a flair for one sided looks! Be well!!

hope before you ever declaw another cat - you look over this info http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1948964.aspx

Thank you for the information. In this case, one reason it was done is because there was already a cat living in the house who was declawed and it was felt he would be at a disadvantage if there was a cat with claws in the household. Also, I do not own the house, and so it was not entirely my choice.

I had one cat who was declawed after sending us to the hospital a couple of times - he had not trouble intimidating the claws intact cats because he was just so crazy!

I would have to say that he doesn't. Mine will lay on the top of the couch and pat my shoulder while I am watching tv.

Yes, I miss some of Pumpkin's kitten behaviors. When he was tiny he would curl up between my neck and shoulder and purr almost the whole night. Now sometimes he will try to lie there as if he doesn't realize he's too big and there isn't room for him. The rest of the time he will ignore me and go sleep somewhere else, because apparently it isn't cool to sleep in your "mom's" bed now that you're almost a year and a half old. That must be like teenage for cats.

Little Buddy - My second oldest cat. My daughter named her Little Buddy cause
at the time we adopted her, we were watching the 'Elf' movie and there's
a mention of 'Little Buddy'.

She is the Queen of the house, though she has
never had babies.

She has mothered three kittens that we brought
into the house very well and helped them grow up
strong.
Awww! He sounds like a real sweetheart. All my cats do that, when I let them. I use a really big over sized bed pillow at night so that I can prop up on and breath better and they take up the top half of the plump pillow, stretching themselves out and getting comfy. My cat Little Buddy is notorious about kneading my hair silly and she isn't declawed so my hair gets a real messing with. I'm enclosing a pic of my cat Little Buddy. She's a real sweetheart though not very well house broken.

When I was younger I had real long hair that would tickle the back of my legs. Well Precious used to love to climb this hair when I'd be getting ready for school in the morning. I don't know why, maybe he was after the hairbrush, but He loved it. I also learned at that time, thaat I could only ware jean meterial, because he'd miss in his climbing attempts and his claws would become embeded in my leg or my rear-end. I didn't quite like that so much though. After I got out of high school, I cut a good several inches off of it, and kept it short. Its grown back out to almost shoulder length, but I'm not going to let it grow much more then that. And with all that hair gone, Precious sees no need to try and climb it, or my leg for that matter anymore.

Wow! Pumpkin used to try to climb up my legs, when he still had claws. Ouch!
