Does your religion teach Jesus was God in the flesh?
I was raised with the teaching that God came to earth
in the body of Jesus, that the whole world could be
saved. That God gave his only son on the cross for
us. So, what does your religion teach about Jesus?

SOME PROOFS----WHAT ISLAM TEACHES ABOUT JESUS ?
I have already given a brief summary of what we Muslims believe about Prophet Jesus(pbuh)so it will be more appropriate if I give some proofs of these beliefs from the Holy Quran and the Holy Hadith:
1.JESUS WAS NOT A GOD OR A SON OF GOD:
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
" Most certainly they committed blasphemy who said,"Allah,He is indeed the Messiah,Mary's son;"whereas the Messiah had said,
"O children of Israel,'worship Allah alone, who is my Lord and your Lord
as well."
Whosoever joins a partner with Allah,Allah shall forbid him the Garden, and Hell shall be his abode."
(Surah Al-Maida 72,The Holy Quran)
2.ON TRINITY:
God Almighty also condemns trinity in the Holy Quran:
" Most certainly they committed blasphemy, who said,"God is one of the three:whereas there is no Deity other than the one Deity(Allah Almighty)."
(Surah Al-Maida-74,The Holy Quran)
3.JESUS WAS NEVER KILLED ON THE CROSS:
God Almighty tells the truth that Jesus was not killed on the cross:
"They (Jews) themselves bragged,we have slain Jesus, son of Mary,a Messenger of Allah.Whereas,in fact.they did not slay him nor did they crucify him but the matter was made dubious for them. And those who have differed about this matter arealso in doubt concerning it.They have no knowledge of it but they follow mere conjectures, for it is certain that they did not kill Jesus.Nay,the fact is that Allah had raised him to Himself, for Allah is all powerful ,all wise."
(The Holy Quran 4:157/158)
4.JESUS WILL DESCEND AS A JUST RULER:
The final Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)clearly predicted about the second coming of Jesus:
"I swear upon the One(Allah Almighty)who holds my life that soon Essa(Jesus)son of Maryam(Mary)will descend upon you as a just ruler. He will break the Cross(to negate his crucification),will kill the pig(to prohibit eating of pork)and will disallow "Jiziyah"(capitation tax from non-Muslims living in Muslim countries). There will be abundance of wealth and no one will be needy to take it."
(Sahih Bokhari,Nazool-e Essa ibne Maryam,Hadith no:3448)
Please read these clear proofs from the Holy Quran and the holy Hadith and then comment on them.
PEACE.......

Thanks for your reply. Please try to understand that the last divine Book, the Holy Quran ,is the final authenticated information and injunction from one God Almighty, which is being divinely protected for centuries. It has superseded all the previous scriptures.I think the term "son of God" is just a mistranslation. It seems that not only Jesus is the son of God but God has tons of sons in the Bible. Please read the following references for other Prophets also:
1.PROPHET JACOB(pbuh)is God's son and first born:
"Israel is my son, even my first born." (Exodus 4:22)
2.PROPHET SOLOMON(pbuh) was also God's son:
" I will be his father and he shall be my son." (Samuel 7:13-14)
3.PROPHET EPHRAIM(pbuh)is another God's first born son:
"...for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first born." (Jeremiah 31:9)
4.PROPHET ADAM(pbuh):
"Adam, which won the son of God." (Luke 3:38)
5.COMMON PEOPLE(you and me) are also sons of God:
"You are the children of the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 14:1)
So it is obvious that God Almighty had used this term for many people to show His love but we have misunderstood it........

I do not believe I have missed it. I believe
this is the truth. It is in what you believe.
I study the Bible and I believe the Bible. I
will not turn my back on the truth and be
lost forever. Jesus is my Savior and Lord.
Psalm 23 : 1
The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want.

Jesus is Gods son the first angel of Gods creation and Michael is his name in the heavens. Jesus is micheal who came to earth and took human form so he is Gods son.

Hi Gram13000,
Jesus is not an angel. He is God.
John 1:1-2 " In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was with God in the beginning."
John 1:14 " And the Word became a human being and dwelt among us.."
I hope this verse will help you understand that Jesus is not an Angel. If people are saying that He is an angel, dont believe them because the Scripture does not say that Jesus is an Angel. Jesus is God in the flesh.
Where can you find a verse in the scripture that supports that Jesus is Michael?
Please reply... Let us reason together not by our own opinion but from the Holy Scripture itself.

Hi jezzmay, I believe that all Christian denominations teach this doctrine, certainly all the major ones. I was raised in a Christian church but rarely attend anymore since my beliefs have changed so much in recent years. I believe that religion is a way of life and has nothing at all to do with what we believe. Actions speak louder then words. Blessings.

Jesus is either God or is God's son. He cannot be both.
Matthew 3:17 (King James Version)
17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

I am a Muslim woman who also loves Jesus. Allah, the Arabic name for God in the Quran tells us that we should follow the teachings of Jesus (whose name is Issa in Arabic)as they are sound. I found it interesting looking up the sayings of Jesus in the Bible and love both this prophet and the Holy Prophet Muhamad, who God says is the final prophet and the one who sealed the prophethood; meaning that there will be no more messengers and prophets after Muhamad. The difference of course is that Muslims believe that Jesus is a prophet in Islam, and Christians do not believe it.
