Do you have a car? Is it important to you to have a car?

I have a car now, but for about 5 years I did not. I could not go to places I wanted to go when I did not have one. If you do not have a car, do you have this problem?

I don't have a car but time was I had one I could call my own; I own a humble pushbike and that is all, and sometimes I get so tired having to cycle everywhere, and I dislike the train. Luckily I've a supermarket just a few minutes away

I know how you feel, is hard to ride a bike every where. I went with out a car for about 5 years. I agree with you about a supermarket being close. I have one near me to, but I can not ride a bike now. I do try to walk when I can. Thank you for answering.

I do have a car but I don't use it that often, probably twice a week, because petrol is so expensive now and I am not currently working I tend to walk everywhere, I keep it because it's my little bit of independence and if things got on top of me I could easily escape in the car! I have moved a fair bit so having a car helps a great deal in moving all my belongings around. I wouldn't be able to get to my self defence classes twice a week if I didn't have a car. It's also good to have in the Summer when I can drive down to the ocean to relax on the beach and swim.

I like to go to beach my self. I have about 200 miles to go to get there. I have not been in years, but I do look forward to it this summer.

Where I live, it isn't a question of wanting a vehicle. It is a matter of needing a vehicle. It is a rural area, with towns spread out one every ten miles or so, and a lot of people live outside the "city limits" of a town. So without a mode of transportation, it is very difficult to do anything! Now, although we have two vehicles, this winter has been rough, and our driveway has been drifted in beyond what I am willing to shovel by hand. Since I am unable to clear the driveway for days at a time, I have been stranded without a vehicle. I primarily work from home during the week, so it isn't a really big deal. But my worry has been that my nearly two year old son would have an accident or illness that required me to go to the hospital. That is a pretty uneasy feeling! Keep in mind that the closest hospital is about 15 minutes away, so even if I called for an ambulance, it would be a minimum of 30 minutes before they could get him to the hospital. With all the snow we have had this winter, I just can't imagine not having access to transportation on a permanent basis. I suppose if we lived in a more populated area or in a city with public transportation, it would be a different story.

I have a car yeah and I have had a car since I passed my test at the age of 16, cars defiantly make it easier to travel around but even if you didn't have a car there is always public transport though I am a bit posh in that respect as hate using public transport A) its unreliable B) have to sit next to someone who I don't really want to sit next too so having a car is defiantly a lot easier but also a lot more expensive.

i do have a car. and it is important to have one if you have money to spend for it. for buying, maintaining and petrol. you can go places you want to go. not having a hard time riding in public transportation. waiting in long lines. getting wet when raining.
