Which do you think is a better place to put a money making OR personal blog? I just started out one on BlogSpot but I'm having a hard time getting started - it's REALLY confusing! I was also thinking about Livejournal and Xanga - two places I used to be a regular on. Which out of these do you think is the best place to host a blog? What have your experiences been? And if I decide to stick with Blogspot, do you have any tips for me?

I'd go for blogger since its user-friendly and a lot of people use it. I've used Xanga and LiveJournal before for personal blogging but I switched to Multiply now. I suggest you use blogger if you want to monetize your blog.

Just added info, I just read at another thread someone suggested Triond. I'm checking it right now.

Triond? Triond is not a blog-hosting site. It's pretty much an online publishing site. You write your own articles, Triond publishes it, and then you get paid for it. =)

Hahaha I just realized that when I checked it out. I'm thinking of trying it out as well. Thanks for the info :D

I had been searching for this on the Web for days, because like you, I really wanted to know which was better. It was a really tight competition. But then I decided to create mine in Blogger, because a lot of people say that it's really for beginners. Believe me, it's not that hard to use. It's actually user-friendly! My blog is only a month old but I already knew how to customize it and add some extra features.

I don't think Blogger is all that hard to use...just keep at it and explore the various features like you did with other blogging platforms. It can be a bit hard to adjust (I used Blogger before using Wordpress and found WP kind of confusing at first so I can relate...) but you'll be comfortable eventually. Blogger is without a doubt the best for a commercial blog because they have no problem with their users making money with their content. Wordpress.com seems to allow Amazon affiliates, but frowns on most commercial uses. Livejournal and Xanga are I believe even more strict; they're pretty much just for personal blogging. However, there are some free Wordpress hosts that also let you profit from your work: Blogetery and Blogsome come to mind.

I been using blogger for almost 2 years now. I love this more than wordpress. I used to have a blog with wordpress before but I deleted it and transfer to blogger. I prefer blogger because there is a lot of useful feature in blogger that i wanted to put on my blog which is not available in wordpress.

I have a blogspot site which i barely use because it not too friendly to use for me!! Wordpress, i find to be quite user friendly and you can also make money there, AM. Either one you decide to choose, work and stick with it. They all have their good and bad sides. i have discovered that taking one at a time, trying it out, mastering it and utilising it before jumping to the next really helps. That way, you can learn to use all available tools and use them all to one advantage or the other. So, go for it. Take them all on. Master each one and then move to the next one. The internet gurus have their hands in soooooo many pies. Thats how they earn their fat pay outs.
