Ladies: Do You Prefer Taller Men?

I do! Despite living with a tall man who wasn't very nice a few years ago I STILL prefer tall men to smaller men. Why? Because they make me look kinda cute and small and a tall man detracts from the fact that I'm a bit rotund. Seriously, though, I have always preferred tall men. Most tend to be the gentle giant types. My hubby is the epitome (word of the day) of that. He was bullied for years both at school and later on as an adult but when I came along it all stopped. This annoyed me somewhat as it should've been his so-called "friends" that stopped the bullying...but they didn't, let it go on for years (connected to the football we go and see). It's not that my hubby is soft; it's just that being tall he is expected to behave in a certain way and it isn't in his nature to be like that. I always say to him, "I wish I was tall" to gee him up as it has caused a fair bit of misery in his life. It doesn't now though, I'm pleased to say.So do you like tall men? Do you like being hugged by a tall guy?

Hello, Janey. I like my men to be taller than me and, since I'm 5' 2" in my stockinged feet, that's not difficult, unless I select my mate from one of the pigmy tribes. I like to be able to look up to my man both literally and figuratively. I have no desire for equality, or any of the other feminist crap. I want to be cosseted and cherished, and if my man can't do that, whether he's 5', 6' or 7', he's history.

You're about an inch taller than my Mum and 2 inches smaller than me. It's taken me a while to find someone to cosset and cherish me and I'm pleased to say that the guy I'm with is 6ft 1ins tall. Get in!

hi Janey, Well most of the women would prefer taller ones---they like to cuddle in those huge monsterous hands very much like the king kong and they also think that taller ones come handy when they're in kinda trouble with villians---these were two of the facts i came to know---as why women prefer tall men.Coming to me i'm 6'2 so its pretty hard for me to find a girl who is of atleast 5'8 to 5'10else i have to work so hard to kiss herwho is shorter than me.great day.

Yes, I must admit it is lovely being hugged by a tall guy. It's like being in a bear's arms, hence the term "bear hug" lol.

I'm the exception to this rule. I'm a tall woman 5'10", but I really prefer short men. Women throw themselves at tall men and therefore they take too many things for granted. Short men have had to fight for every morsel of respect and therefore know how and do treat women sooo much better. Luckily, short men also find me attractive. Short men are more loyal also. I don't worry about my short man cheating on me.

Thanks very much for your interesting response, it's given me a whole new perspective on shorter guys that I'd not thought of before. All men are cute in my opinion, so long as they make us laugh lol.

Hi there. Yes, I do. I prefer taller men. My heigh is 160sm and I like men with height at least 180sm. I don't like thin and short men... In your last question I would say: Yeeeesss! I just love to be hugged by a tall guy!

Excellent! It's sooo comforting being hugged by a tall guy. If I'm not feeling well, John will hug me and I feel miles better afterwards!

I have never admitted that I like tall men. But somehow most of my ex boyfriends were really tall -- at least for our country. They ranged from 5 feet 11 inches tall to 6'1 then the tallest of them all was 6'2. But I always tell people it's not that I like tall men, IT'S THAT TALL MEN LIKE ME. It's nice being with tall me -- I have to give it that! Being small it gave me a sense of feeling protected. Being with them also felt that even though I was small a tall guy like him noticed me. But that being said, I don't depend my happiness to a tall guy. Not because I have been hurt by many tall guys but because I have realized that it doesn't matter. Now I'm seeing a not so tall guy. We can consider him the shortest boyfriend I've ever had compared to my ex boyfriends. But I love him the most.

Aww that's nice to know my friend! Don't get me wrong, not all guys I've been out with have been taller than me. There was one many years ago who was a tiny bit taller than me, he was cute, so he must be like the man you have fallen for.

I also like tall men because they look stronger and much more charming. And I feel like having the good protection. I love China

I prefer men who are taller than me too. Because I am only 5'2, finding a man taller than me isn't that difficult. He has to be taller than me even when I wear heels because it looks aesthetically better that way.

That's a very good point about the heels! Whenever I go out in heels (not that often, unfortunately) I feel great because I'm not much shorter than hubby.

I'm a shortie. Literally means, SHORT. So in this case, I like tall guys. Well any guys taller than me is considered somewhat tall. But I like taller guys, like really tall guys. You know like a foot gap or something like that. I think in here comes the opposite attracts. I'm a frustrated tall wanna be girl, and that ain't going to happen this time, since I already passed the growing stage of my life, I'm now 25. So I guess it won't be too hard for me to get tall guys after all, I'm short enough to tower by guys. And what are those stilettos for?

Haha, I love our comment my friend! I do possess a pair of high ankle boots but that's as far as it goes for hells for me. I would dearly love a pair of stilettos but I know for a fact I'd topple over lol.

I prefer men with the same height with me or at taller than me by 2 feet. Most taller men have lean body, athlete type and very active though marring gives a lot of benefits when having taller children they have more chance to be a varsity player and get a scholarship which a great help. Also many job require height as one of the requirements so they need to be physically fit, well groom and have could be a lot of help in the household errand, and being hug like a big war and comfort like a bear is a nice feeling and having a taller men beside you is like having a trophy then they also serves as a security blanket.

I've never heard of a taller man being described as having a "trophy" and "a security blanket" beside me but I get the idea my friend. Thank you.

I prefer non-tall men. I have always been shorter than most of the people I know, so being with a man taller than me makes me look even shorter. That's why if they're not more than 10 cm taller than me, I find it perfect, as I don't look so small. That doesn't mean I would never consider a tall person

That makes total sense! My John is nearly a foot taller than me, any taller than that and we may look silly when we go out lol. Seriously, though, if he was a short guy I wouldn't really mind, cos he's lovely and that's the main thing.

Yes, I like tall guys because I am tall myself, for an Asian (my height is 5'6). I prefer tall guys because they make me feel secure, especially when they hug and comfort me. I feel that they can protect me and intimidate other people just because of their stature.

I do know exactly what you mean. This is why John feels a bit uneasy about his height at times. He's never had to "stick up for me" or anything as I can do that myself but a hug from a tall man is really nice, I love it.

I prefer for sure taller men, I am an small woman, but one of the things more sexy in a guy is the high, I really love tall guys, they always look so elegant, and to be honestly everything they wear looks good on them.

Apart from my husband. He's what I would describe as a "fashion victim." He wouldn't be able to wear anything really expensive as he can't "carry" clothes, not posh ones anyway. Shame!

I want a tall guy, I am about 6 ft. tall myself. I did date a shorter guy then me, sort of felt funny. I don't want to have to bend over to hug him.

6 ft! - vow! You do have a lot of work to do to find your one and only. It is not just height but see my response - what else is needed to have someone in your life for better or for worse. I wish you luck!

i'm a shortie, so just about any guy is taller than me. but it a big advantage when you can't change the light bulb, even when on a chair. but it a bloke is a lot taller than you it can really show and make you feel real short next to them.

We have high ceilings so hubby STILL has to stand on a little ladder to reach the light-bulbs. However, at his Mum's house he regularly walks into her chandalier, which is quite funny. Haha!

I gravitate toward taller men probably because they make me feel secure. Now I'm 5ft and my husband is 6ft 1in and he has these wonderfully large and rugged hands, that when he takes my hand, it is a rather endearing feeling, I must admit. I'm not sure if it is his height or not, but I have never had that feeling with the shorter men I have dated.

I do. But it's really funny that we sometimes end up with guys who don't fit our 'dream guy' standards. My boyfriend is just average height, but it doesn't matter. I'm petite anyway. But I do take another look when I see someone more taller, good looking than him. It's just the way we are we have instincts for greater chances of evolution happening the right way. Good news though, we are not controlled by our animal instincts.
