I Am Snowed In and I Hate It

Is anyone else on here snowed in due to the recent storm? I live on the east coast in the U.S. and we just had about 8 or 10 inches of snow dropped on us last night and this morning. Do you like snow? I positively cannot stand it. It's supposed to get down to 12 degrees here tonight!

I hate snow too! I moved from Ohio to North Carolina...hoping to be snow free. This is now the 2nd hit of the season, and both times 10 inches. I am in the backwoods foothills and couldn't get out to go to work today. And since I am, in good weather a half an hour away, the boss couldn't come to get me. I was never snowed in like this in Ohio, but I lived in a town.

Dragon, I have seen changes in road maintenance too, but our economy is not as bad as that of Ohio. I understand that Ohio is the hardest hit state in the economy. I am amazed that I have so many friends on MyLot from Ohio.

Hey, I live in a town and I get snowed in! Maybe you lived here when towns had money to buy salt for the trucks. Now, only the intersections are salted and we're lucky if the side streets like mine even get plowed! When they do get plowed, they pile up the snow at the end of the alleys and those of us with garages in back of our houses either have to dig out or stay home.
I don't mean to gripe but things have changed with the economy and now even people in medium sized towns get snowed in.
Hey, enjoy the beauty of the snow. At least you have 4 seasons. I voluntarily moved back here to Ohio because I couldn't stand blue skies and sunshine day after horrible day, week after week and the horrid heat averaging 100° for most of the year. I was terribly depressed with no weather changes. Appreciate what you have!

I know how you feel except I don't hate the snow. I moved back to Ohio a few years ago after decades being stuck in the desert and even when I was snowed in last year I was so glad to be here. I know it's tough having to stay in the house and not go anywhere and the cold outside (it's 15° now and probably down to 9° tonight), but spring will be here before you know it and we'll have 3 beautiful seasons before the winter hits us again.
You could plan your garden or some plants you'll buy in the spring to cheer yourself up maybe.

It's just been so brutal this year. I'll never get used to it. If I ever move, it will definitely be south!

I know! I've found myself thinking of the Southwest again this year--my adult sons are there but so is my ex husband--blech!! I may move closer once my dad is gone (he lives 30 miles away) but it would be to a place with 4 seasons--I just could not bear summer for 9 months and a hot spring for the other 3!

I do not really hate the winter and snow, but I am having a hard time dealing with it this year. I had foot surgery three weeks ago and I am not allowed a shoe yet. We have about six inches of snow and cold temperatures. Actually it melted a lot today, though. I can get out, but I prefer to let my husband drive. The ironic thing is that if I go to church tomorrow I will have to drive, even though one of the parking lots is just across my backyard and alley. The snow and ice is so high in the alley that I will have to drive around to park near a door if I go. I am tired of staying inside. It was pretty, although very white, outside today.

I hate snow and ice! Our temps are supposed to hit 7 degrees tonight. Snow is beautiful to look at from the window, but not to drive in. That storm just left here in TN, so you are next in line.
About all you can do is snuggle down with a good book and wait it out.
Can't wait for spring. Hang in there.

I can't wait for spring either. I just hate not even being able to get off my street. The main streets are passable, just not mine.

Can you send some of that snow down my way? I miss being able to make snow angels and snowmen. Louisiana isn't exactly known for its white Christmases. lol

I so wish I could send you some of it...a lot of it and get rid of it from here :)

I envy you people...I can't relate in your discussion. I live in a tropical country so I haven't seen and experienced snow in my entire life. Also, the temperature here ranges from 28 to 36 degrees Celsius, it reaches 40 degrees on summer in some areas. Wish I could go there or to any snow raining countries someday.

oh no! We rarely get snowed in here. Sometimes we get snow, but not enough to close everything down. It is too bad that you've been snowed in. I hope you have enough things to do.

I'm on the east coast also, but thankfully haven't had snow but it's downright frigid here. Just a few day ago it was in the near 50s...as I write this it's 17 degrees..BIG difference. I even slept in today since at least I was warm snuggled under my blankets and had my two cats keeping me warm as well.
