I saw the promotional video on youtube and i like it very much, it's a mix of a tablet pc, iphone, ipod and kindle.
What do you think?
Is this the future of laptops and notebooks?
Or is only one more Apple Gadget to fight against the competition?

Hi
As usual the gadget was released but hit snag almost right away with users complaining of WI-FI connectivity issues. Apple initially tried to sweep that under the carpet but had to say they will release updates to fix the problem. The Ipad is supposed to be the netbook killer but I just cant see that happening as netbooks have almost laptop like functionality for half the price of the Ipad. In my Opinion its just another gadget from apple to squeeze more out of consumers who always fall into line. The ipad doesnt even support FLASH and you cannot install a browser of your choice!!
also read on PC world the screen protector case is rather hefty..
In short it is just a fashion accessory to flash at the coffee house

Personally, I like it. I would love to buy me one day. I am a big technology fan. I am a big fan of apple too. I own an iPod touch it is the greatest. The ipad is just another addition to all the apple electronics. It's not the future and it can't compeete to anything iny opnion.

I think it is a really bad decision for apple. I mean it is basically a blown up ipod touch. It doesn't even have a camera like the iphone. They say it does a lot of things but I did not find anything different that you can do on the Ipod touch. Maybe someone will develop something but I would rather buy and Itouch especially cuz it is even smaller and more portable.

I'm not fond of apple-based products. They claim to be bug-free, but to be quite honest I think the industry is too busy trying to keep up. Tablet Pcs, touch screens, palm pilots, and other gagets like that already exist. I really don't get the purpose of this new Ipad to be quite honest. Give me a known name-brand cell phone and I'm perfectly happy.
