Hi again guys. I just want your opinion which is the best anti-virus software out there in the market? I had norton once and I deleted it because it takes up too much memory space when it is turned on plus it doesn't seem to detect new viruses even though its always been updated. Now I have Kapersky and it runs smoothly and doesn't slows down my computer and also prompt warnings are minimize and doesn't disturb your work. I know we may not have the same computer parts but what anti-virus works for you in your PCs? ^^,

There different systems in the world and different anti-viruses in the world so which anti-virus we are comfortable with will be our best. That is what I have learned now. There are lots of debates after this and yes all anti-virus has their set backs. ^^

I've been using AVG Free edetion for the past couple ofmonths. Its proven to work well with my pc. It doesn't slow it down and so far no warnings, which means no problems. my system is actually clean for once. I hate other softwares that claim to find harmful things when its realy detecting windows components that windows automatically reinstalls on your next restart.

I have AGV too and another software that my school requires me to have. The software from my school tells me where there is something on my computer. AGV never does. So I don't really trust it.

I have tried a lot of anti-virus already. But the anti-virus that I find fitting for me is Avira. I have been using for a year already and so far have not experience any problem. It is very light and very much effective so and so that I have even recommended it to my friends. Now most of my friends are using it and like me, they find it great.

I use Norton 360 myself and I'm really pleased with this antivirus product as it does absolutely everything in my view. I have not had any problems with it and I scan my system once per week on a Friday. I think it's important that you have a good antivirus product on your system. I used to use the free version of AVG and I thought that it was pretty good but I don't mind paying a subscription fee once per year for my Norton antivirus product. I don't know which Norton product you had but I know that there are different versions. Yes, antivirus scanning does tend to take up space but that's the same with any product. It all depends on the configuration of your pc hardware, how much memory or ram you have and things like that. I have a dual core processor as well as 2gb of ram or memory and my pc seems fast enough for my needs. I have heard of Kapersky although I have never tried that product so I cannot comment on whether it's any good or not. I'm pretty happy with Norton 360 at the present time. Andrew

I prefer Avast, because it needs very few memory space. Also, it is very effective for removing viruses from the PC. I use it and it works great, even on a PC with 512 MB of RAM. I am scanning while I use many other programs, and it works great. It consumes few resources and it has a good performance. I use the home edition, but the professional edition works better. But Kasperski is also very good.

Smadav is the best for me. It works for local n import virus. Uhmm.... it might not really as work well as international anti-virus but it's sufficient enough for me. I like it b'coz it was impressive at my first usage.

I am using Avast anti virus from many years and i am satisfied with it. Its absolutely free and one can easily download and can register and after end of registration one can register free for home use.
I found it really nice as i had tried other anti virus in past but none of them gave such nice results as it gives.
I feel safe now regarding any kind of virus as i have got free Avast home edition which is making me free minded regarding any kind of viruses.

i had used various anti virus before using eset nod32, eset smart security 9it also having firewall) more better for enhanced security, before eset i had used quick heal, kaspersky, avast, avira, avg, norton, mcafee, f-secure, zonealarm, panda etc, but i was not completely satisfied with any of them, almost of them having some drawbacks like excessive memory usage, slowdown system, takes a lot of time for log0n and logoff, can't detect major viruses and other rootkits, trojans, spywares, malwares, adwares, win32 etc.
leave all that, go for eset only.
eset as considered as fastest antivirus on earth as per numerous surveys worldwide.

I am using NOD32, it's really a good Anti-Virus software for laptops. cuz it takes a little memory space, and very reliable to protect your system.

I have been using McAfee for the past 4.5 years and have been happy with it so far. I don't believe it slows down my pc or hogs the memory. I have it free with an MSN subscription so that's a plus too.
What I have is the Anti Virus and the Firewall protection so it's all there and pretty much easy to install and understand. I have had no conflict with other software too. I know that sometimes when you have an AV, it blocks some of your applications and it's so darn difficult to remove the block. I've never had that with my McAfee. It also detects when you've connected to a network you haven't connected to before and prompts you if you trust that or not.

trust me, as far as my knowledge is concerned regarding antivirus products.
eset is the best antivirus software made ever, i don't have any objection to say about that it is simply best, i am internet cafe owner, using this and beware from troubles and difficulties, don't think just installed it on your laptops and desktops without thinking anything more, my all systems are running more than 14 to 15 hours per day on internet, and i had not format him since 2008.
again needless to say more

Personally, I don't like Norton coz it's too technical, a casual or average can't customize it properly. Sure it is a great antivirus but there are several problems encountered by the users. As you said, it takes too much memory, and slows down your computer and even blocks sites and programs and you don't know how to unblock it. It is full of computer jargons that most people won't understand.
I just install free antivirus since Mccafee didn't work for me as well. What I do is install the free AVG anti- virus, then supports it with a free ZOneAlarm firewall, then put some spybots and spyware blaster. I've been doing this for a few years now, and if you surf the net cautiously, it will take care of your virus and spyware problems. This is based from my experience and don't mean to offend others who uses Norton and other anti-virus softwares. Hope this helps.
