In earthquake torn Haiti, ten members of the Central Valley Baptist Church in Idaho and East Side Baptist church of the same state were temporarily detained. they were suspected of child trafficking because they tried to bus 33 children out of the Haitian border to The Dominican Republic.
The group's intention was to take 100 kids from Haiti and etablish an orphanage. For the time being, the plan is to house the kids in a rented hotel in a beach resort. Before they could get out, Haitian police questioned them and put them to detention.
The group's better intention was caught up with the Haitian government's strict policies on adoption because of the earthquake. This is to avoid child trafficking. Thousands of kids are separated from their parents because of the disaster.
The group's spokesperson said the they have proper document's from the HAITIAN government but failed to seek one from the authorities. The group are in touch with their relatives in the United States with regards to their present condition.

I just saw this on the news and find it very hard to believe. I think there may be more to the story, as the group didn't seem to be hiding anything, even though they didn't have any paperwork. If however, they were taking the children for sale, and it can be proved, then they deserve the full weight of the law.

This is ongoing, I just saw an interview, and the group thought they had approval. I just hope the result is true and correct. If quilty, they desarve punishment, if not, then they should be freed. It's the children who need our prayers.

Any group (religious, political, etc) that is found to do this, or even approve of it should be despised as it is the lowest form of evil. People can pose as whatever they want.. If the group is found to be not guilty, will we hear about that I wonder?

Don't jump to conclusions just yet I have heard the government has gotten back in operations just enough to start demanding bribes from foreigners trying to help Haitians. Look at what happened at the airports already where they are trying to get medical supplies through, airport officials are trying to extort taxes out of medical supplies while they're own people are dying from lack of medical supplies.

While they might have had good intentions, their way of carrying out their intentions and plans was quite irregular and i don't blame the Haitian authorities for stopping and preventing them from bringing out the children. Firstly, the situation in Haiti is quite abnormal and it appears they were trying to take advantage of the fact that the authorities were busy in attempting to bring out the children. tgus alone would raise suspicions as to their motives. Secondly, one can not be too careful when it comes to children considering the so numerous cases of trafficking of children all over the world and i respect the Haitian authorities for being vigilant and careful in order to prevent child trafficking. Granting the group had good intentions, it is their own fault that they are now languishng in prison because they tried to take advantage of the confusion prevailing in haiti in order to attempt to spirit out the children. If indeed they had the proper documents there was no reason to attempt to bring out the children in such an underhnaded manner. Serves them right.

I saw the pastor of the church this morning on Fox News. He said that they had the correct documentation, but something went wrong. They weren't trafficking the children, but were going to take them and build an orphanage for them. Hopefully, they will be found legal and able to do what they went there to do.

Hi friend
So true.
This act of charity must not be taken for a wrong thing. Their act of control is reasonable if they would conduct fair investigation and trial.
